Curentae, your post disappeared. ._.Also, I did look at the Cataclysm poster. So now what?
I deleted it because I can't afford the charges to upload more pictures from my mobile phone to show the lineup of people which is what I was planning to do after posting that. Oh well. You can believe it or not, I still had a great time last night and that's what matters.

Ask any of the older big users about the suicide thread. It was serious shit bro. Take your pony show and your 21 post count down the road fag.P.S. We're enemies now.
Someone with 21 posts just made an enemy out of an oldfag. I think I'm off to a good start here.
But you're a nerd and no one likes you!
Take down the site and or get permabanned and we'll talk.
Why would we need to talk? Why would I need to be perma-banned or take down the site? And why should I care if I'm a nerd that no one likes?
Are you a wizard?

I did those things mentioned, and much more. The WoW players probably shrugged you off as a bad attempt at comedy. I caused mayhem and human sadness.I don't believe that for a second. Cruentae brought proof to the table, where's yours?

That's fucking awesome mate. Good job. Definitely outdid me there.
Yeah, we're pretty G.

If it was a month and a half - it took much longer specifically because it was only one person doing the event. A dedicated moderator would be able to assist TMS and what not, or if TMS had moderation powers he wouldn't have to act like a 6 year old asking his mom to turn on the oven for him. HE COULD BAKE THAT SHIT HIMSELF.unpantsu wrote...
Well, I can't fix the moderation bits (post deletions and rule enforcement), but I can definitely automate the sticky/unsticky process so that it automatically makes the daily battle threads, sticky/unstickys them, keeps track of the developing bracket and updates a central status post, generates bracket images, etc. I don't know what proportion of the overhead that would eliminate for you guys, but it would at least remove the "oh god need to stay up to put the thread up at the right time" factor. The fancy landing page is really just icing on the cake. The real timesaver is the automated system which takes care of the bruntwork for you guys.
Yeah that sounds like a lot of work eliminated as well as the problem of last year when people would complain or wonder if TMS was dead since there were no updates. With this automation, no one would care if he was dead.
How long would it take to get all that setup?
Well, to be fair it wouldn't actually get rid of the hardest part; that is, creating the header images for each battle. That was what took the longest, and under this system I'd still have to do it. I like the idea, but I'm just being realistic. It wouldn't be possible to automate a system that could take 2 random images, center them perfectly to the way that looks good and create with no manual interaction.
On the mod topic; the only problem I could see arising by having someone other than the main creator/do-er of the game is a problem that came up last year; when something needed done but no mods were around.

tms would inform me of changes he needed done, and report things that were unwanted. It was fairly short but almost daily as a lot of drama does seem to pop up during.Ahhhh, okay, that makes a lot more sense. I was making the false assumption that he was just temporarily made a moderator of that sub-forum.
What kind of changes did he mostly request (aside from the usual reporting functionality)? Was it mostly just sticky/unsticky threads, or was there more to it?
Sticky this, unsticky that, delete this post, tell them to stay on topic, tell them to abide by rules was basically what he did.

Spoiler:
Well hell, that's much sexier than my "make a thread for every battle". I don't know if Jake would be okay with this though, last time he wanted to make sure everyone knew it was a community made project rather than a fakku sponsored game. To be honest, I'm more than okay with just a subforum and me making all the threads, would be much less work on the admin's parts as well.

Pointless to have a poll. People who know what it is will want it back as long as it is improved, people who don't know what it is don't really have a reason to answer the poll since they can't have something "back" if they've never had it before. No dawg, people that have never heard of it may want it, but if there isn't an overwhelming "yes" there is no fucking reason to spend 4 months doing something no one cares about.
You should do it either way, silent majority and all that. Also, people joined Fakku just because of GARfest and those people aren't going to be voting in this poll, are they?
Off-topic:
Don't make it last four months. That's a quarter of a year sir, way too long but see sig.
The first competition lasted 3 months and that was with less competitors.

Then do it son, don't get all sad and whiny. I said I would do it because I would and I have the time too. And to suggest that I am just trying to steal the idea right out from under you nose it absurd as I post that I'm sure you'd stop by to say something - although I thought you wouldn't be so offended by someone bringing it up. Did I really have to PM you about something people have been asking about for a while? Especially when you seemed oh so not very eager to do GARfest for the majority of the year. Perhaps when you heard "moderator powers" you became interested again?
Either way, don't be upset at me for bringing up something you wouldn't have brought up yourself. And no, you don't own the idea of GARfest. GARfest is the creation of Jim Davis where fans celebrate the antics of his newspaper comic character "Garfield".
TL;DR
-Don't cry
-Poll is stupid
-Your welcome
I wasn't sad and whiny, I was pissed. You mad. I wasn't offended you brought it up. Yes. I was busy, see previous post.
Nope.
Of course I wouldn't bring it up, I thought it was over when I couldn't keep deadlines due to supporting my family when my father lost his job. You're a faggot, there's a difference between Garfest and GARfest.
TL;DR
-You mad.
-Poll is cool
-Fuck you

Ah, sorry about that. Had no idea about the history of it -- it sounded like a fuckton of work (moderation is a nightmare to begin with -- and maintaining special threads and all kinds of stuff on top only frustrates the problem). Didn't realize I was hitting a weak spot with my sarcasm :(
That aside, Jacob wants to wait until we're sure the servers are 100% (one of them fucked up over the weekend -- firewall state table filled up and brought the machine down). I think I've got all the kinks worked out, but want to wait another week just to make sure nothing critical is going to break while we have an event going on. Kind of hard to predict what might fail in a live, high-traffic environment, unfortunately :(

Again, I may create the game again if there is enough community want for it. Perhaps a poll? I can't speak for him, but I'm pretty sure Jacob won't have a problem with that. How did it work before? Was it you + global moderators, you + small team, or just you? If the last, it might be prudent to spread the load across a couple other people so you don't get bogged down to the point where it's not enjoyable for you.
Anyway, I don't make decisions -- I'm just the grease on the wheels -- but my appreciation for the hard work you guys do is beyond measure, and I want to make sure you guys have both the tools you need and the good times you deserve.
No worries mate, you did no wrong, I didn't even realise it was sarcasm.
The previous game it was just me, and I pestered waar every time I needed something stickied. It worked fine enough. It's honestly easy enough for me to do by myself, just a little time consuming, and me having to work as previously mentioned drained most of my time earlier in the year.

Preferably a college student who is home over winter break with nothing to doEDIT: This part is much more hostile than I meant it to be, whoops.
It would be much longer than over winter break, and I don't think you realise how much work it actually is. When I first created the game, I thought it would be easy. But no, it's actually one of the most time consuming things I've ever done. That said, I would be up to return to creating it, being as I am basically done with school until next fall.

It was invented by TMS though so I don't want to step on any toes here.To be quite honest, I don't think you care about stepping on toes, being that you've repeatedly suggested that you be put in charge of a game I put my blood, sweat and tears into to create, without even having the decency to at least talk to me about it beforehand.

However, his procrastination to start and new year of GARfest and lack of updates during the last year's GARfest are examples of why this year's edition (which will actually be 2011's by the time it is done) should start with or without him.Sorry for actually having shit to do! (ノã‚∀・)~ã‚ラ☆

That said, TMS doesn't have copyrights on GARfest and if he did we could just rename what is basically a character battleThat's like saying the waifu game isn't waar's or MoteMote isn't Jake's; it's a fucking stupid thing to say and, frankly, an insult.
Again, I may create the game again if there is enough community want for it. Perhaps a poll?

Oh and when you're at it, also track down on any other sort of Nosebleed-ish image. We wouldn't want to be sexist, now would we?
