Plane or car is my usual method of traveling.
Longest drive was California to Canada. Man, that was a long road trip.
Longest Plane ride was Cali to Hawaii...nothing to do, but sleep to pass the time.

Traveling, for me at least, is partly about the food...Any of these places, preferably when a food festival is taking place, would do just fine.
