So I'm kinda new to the whole emulator thing as I prefer trying to get hard or (legit ...ish) digital copies of things, but I have a feeling that Mega Man Legends and a few other games may be a bit difficult to get. I couldn't find any emulator topics for the PSX and only a passing mention of a SuperNES setup. Any ideas/recommendations? (I also wouldn't mind any cheating features you can get. I like to be lazy sometimes)There was a pc version of MML iirc.
And note, PCSX2 isn't the nicest emulator unless you have decent hardware to run it, and if you just want PSX games then use ePSXe in the wame way one would set up PCSX2, grab bios, iso of the game, and run it.
I always downloaded stuff and left it in iFile and used it's image viewer. The screen is large enough that zooming in really isn't necessary, so it was fine for doujins and manga.
Just looking at that the board is alright, I do notice a ridiculously large amount of supported USB 2.0 slots, but regardless. You'll also have one slot for a gpu but since crossfire and sli can be beaten by one higher card these days it should be fine. A quick note too I assume you'll use an ethernet connection to your router, cause if you need to use wifi make sure you buy yourself a wireless network adapter (I had to do this but that's just because I have my routers in different rooms, just noting as a reminder.)
Also most ddr3 ram these days can work down from their speeds if they're higher, but since it's not that much of a difference price wise just focus on finding DDR3 1333 ram to make things easier for yourself.
As for cooling problems, try looking for cases with filters over their intake fans (the antec 300 illusion comes to mind and cooling in it has been fine for me over the past couple months). Also purchase yourself some canned air and give your comp's parts a good blowjob every now and then.

not bad at all lol, I recall a while back at work I had to repair a computer with 2 7300GT's in SLI, could handle doom 3 atleast =/

Lol you could probably do that, though out of curiosity were you able to find the model number of the card?

I was about to ask how you've been til I saw this thread. Regardless, it's strange seeing so many new faces.
Likewise is it AGP or PCI? AGP has the contacts split into 3 even sections and is older, if not outdated, and doesn't work on most motherboards these days. If your card is broken by static then it won't affect your own computer, and if you're just scared of messing with the guts of your own computer then just make sure you keep things like hair, conductive metal, and obviously anything magnetic away from the board, and make sure you discharge yourself before and periodically during your time with the computer open by touching the exposed (non painted part) of your case panel.
Another note, you should be able to find the model of the card written on it somewhere, and if it was that old that he left it in the garage, odds are it's not worth your time installing into your pc anyways.

I'm really clueless about graphics cards, so I don't know what I should get. Considering that I'll have a really good processor, I don't want to be limited by a crappy graphics card. I just want whatever has the best price/performance ratio, Maybe you could suggest one?
Feel free to pick between AMD's 6950 and nvidia's 560 Ti, both are quite similar and approximately $250 range if I recall.
I want at least 4 GB, but preferably more, since (I think) Sony vegas uses alot of ram.
8 gig sets of ram are about $50-60 these days, so it's a good amount to have for most users.
There was also a cheap i5 kit for $200 less: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1241992&CatId=4910. the HD is only 500 GB, the PSU is part of the box and only 450 watts
Watch out for PSU's I'll go ahead and share what flaser said in previous posts about it, but I'm sure he's willing to help you more if you ask

Buy a reliable PSU. Whether you upgrade anything else, this is a good investment as cheap models can fry your whole system. No name manufacturers shamelessly lie! That sticker on that awesomely cheap 800W PSU is just that... a sticker. Such shit tier products usually can't even deliver 50% of their nominal wattage when under load.Check these sites on what are good models (most PSU reviews aren't worth the paper they were printed on, as they don't do *any* tests):
http://www.jonnyguru.com/
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/page/power
and it's got a $62-motherboard with a 3/5 star rating. again, I'll need to buy a graphics card, but I will have limited options because of the 450 watt PSU.
A quick note, on newegg many people give 1 star ratings from DOA (damaged on arrival) items, which brings down ratings, but you can simply return it to the manufacturer and they'll replace it (though most of the time it isn't there fault) so try to focus on aspects written by other users and the board itself.
You chose a board with one PCI E x16 slot, and a couple smaller PCI expresses, this limits you quite a bit for either:
1) running multiple GPU's (crossfire, sli etc)
2) adding in peripherals (internal PCI cards for various things such as wireless adapters, sound cards, additional usb/firewire hubs etc)
If you do choose to get a different board however, keep in mind that you want to make sure that your socket type matches (which again, I feel like intel is a bit confusing for). There is a solution though, and that is there are quite a few CPU + motherboard combos on newegg that are worth searching for to help you in building your system
