Could do, but then I'd probably have too many genre listed. I want it as compact and succinct as possible. Like I'd have Comedy/slice of life anime, but then what about comedy series that aren't slice of life? (if that's what you meant)

I thought I would make a separate poll asking how people think I should present the new anime suggestion list. I have boiled it down to two options. I will be using Ryssen's suggested layout design to see if it works out. You can see that design here.

However, I am unsure whether to present it in the format of either A-Z or by dominant genre.

A-Z would list every suggested anime by people alphabetically, with the title of the anime in a large font (as seen in the design).

Dominant genre would take the core genre of each series (e.g. comedy, mystery etc) and arrange series by genre, while listing the other genre contained within the series in the information part under the title (as seen in the design).

Personally, with the chosen design, I think A-Z would work better. I think deciding what the 'core' genre of a series is could be problematic. For example, would Nichijou go under 'comedy' or 'slice of life'? Unless someone can suggest a way to arrange by genre (one that isn't like how the old list is presented - there are too many), A-Z may be the way.

The reason for making this poll is so I can see how the community want the list presented. I want it to be as convenient and accessible in the way people want it as possible.

I really like this layout, I think I'm going to give it a go. It'll take a while to do it with every series but presentation wise it will look great. Gj m8.

If I do go with this design, however, it will probably have to be A-Z. What do people think about that? Unless, like Ryssen suggest before, I list them by dominant genre and just list the other genres alongside.

Thanks for the suggestion. The currently airing series is something I'm definitely going to incorporate, and possibly recently completed series. I'll have it sectioned at the top of the list. Regarding plot, I think I'll use Ryssen's idea of simple MAL links. As for the censoring, BD/DVD highlighting idea, I would like to try and somehow include this, but it will probably be something I will add once the basic framework for the list is up.


I'll do the MAL linking thing, as well as separating movies and OVAs, but how should I present that? Should I put in brackets next to the series title that it's a movie or OVA? Also, I'm going to need help in listing a succinct genre list.


Thanks for the suggestion. It's an idea, but it's not very user-friendly or presentable in my opinion. It would end up looking more random.


I actually like this idea, but I think I'll try the other stuff first.

I should apologise to people as I didn't make it clear what the purpose of writing your own synopsis was for. The reason I wanted people to write their own synopsis was so they could present a kind of argument and suggestion as to why the series should go on the list, and that they shouldn't contain spoilers simply for anyone else reading the thread - 'anyone' being lurkers or contributors who have not seen said series. These were never to go on the list, I was planning to link to a synopsis for each series.

Thanks for all the anime suggestions so far everyone, I will begin making the list soon. Any other suggestions for how the list should be presented that people have just leave a post. And keep posting any anime suggstions you may have, along with a reason why.
