Because Nue is the midboss of stage 4 UFO. Just like what BiBi said, she will drop a life if you don't use bomb against her. Of course that also means you mustn't die either. brok3n butterfly wrote...
Ah yes that's the one. Yukari has a similar piece. You could purposefully timeout it just for practice but that would undermine the purpose. As for MoF and UFO
Stage 3 MoF: picture
Stage 4 MoF: picture
Stage 4 UFO similar to Stage 3 MoF: picture
Stage 4 UFO similar to Stage 4 MoF: picture
I was suggesting similar parts of a hopefully easier stage to practice so that you can grab UFO's without any issues. Like Jenkins said, the glowing ball is Nue in unidentifiable form.
How do you know that's Nue? It looks like a giant spirit ball to me... Like the one that appears in TD in stage 1...
Oh, those MoF situations won't help, unless I play them on Hard or Lunatic difficulty...

Ohhoho, good to know that you've read it, Zandwarf. Don't you also think that the story is written so neatly to the extent that you can believe it's possible to be canon? It does make me think it is canon, and the creepiest part was the eyes of the Aki sisters when they said they were going to go to Gensokyo...

Stage 4 bosses usually are meant to be giant hurdles right? Rather, its where the difficulty difference between easy and normal really becomes apparent. Regarding UFO normal, I gave it shot today (Reimu+Needles). The bullets weren't the hard part. I was surprised that Murasa speeds up as the spell progresses. I got to the last spell against Shou and inadvertently timed out the green rotating laser spell and you can get a handful of UFO's to really help. I got 4 at some point which made the stage a walkthrough. .Yes, more precisely you can say stage 4 is usually where the real deal is starting to show itself. I assume the key point of you surviving Murasa's timeout is UFO's contributions since you seem capable to make use of it properly, don't forget that Zandwarf is still unable to utilize it yet. Not intending to offend you, but I didn't expect that you could pull a feat to reach Shou's final spellcard in your first attempt. Good job, BiBi. What do you think about Shou and Nazrin?
Seriously? I feel like I should be offended by these comments... I still don't understand the concept of using those damned UFOs to clear bullets... I'm more worried about having enough lives, rather than clearing the screen of bullets. I try to only go for the red mini-UFOs...

Ran's Ultimate Buddhist is supposed to play like Sinker Ghost, or so I've read. Trying to get inside the rings before they move appears to only lead to certain death. It looks like it requires a combination of unfocused and focused moves to all corners of the screen sequentially. Quite a pain in the side but given her other spells it follows her style. Her "anchor" spells can be won by using focused attacking + quick unfocused dodge + focused tight dodge repeatedly. Stage 5 is more of the same tight dodging. As for surviving Sinker Ghost, spam your bombs (deathbombs ideally) and remember dying gives back two bombs until you can survive it without a problem. If you need them use the UFO's. Nue will drop a life if you dont bomb her and a bomb if you bomb her. The main stage is similar to MoF's stage 3 and you can get a handful of UFO's to really help. I got 4 at some point which made the stage a walkthrough.
Ultimate Buddhist isn't anything like Sinker Ghost. You're thinking of the spellcard before Ultimate Buddhist... Princess Tenko -Illusion-. I can get past that easily, because you can hit Ran and make the spell card stop.
And yes, I know all that... It still doesn't matter for me, cuz I try bombing but die instead. And I have no clue why you brought Nue and MoF into the discussion...

Hmm... Loli enough in this official novel art?Spoiler:
Hmm... she seems as tall as the other women... but not like that one girl in between the two pages...
I'm going to leave it as a conditional adoption, for now, as I can argue against her being a loli, and you can argue that she is... so I'm just going to go down the middle path.

Stage 4 bosses usually are meant to be giant hurdles right? Rather, its where the difficulty difference between easy and normal really becomes apparent. The gifs on the grenades were 6 times slower and the one on grazing was the same I think. Have you tried your hand against Mamizou yet? If Mokou is the easiest then the local tanuki should be 2nd easiest.
Regarding UFO normal, I gave it shot today (Reimu+Needles). The bullets weren't the hard part. I was surprised that Murasa speeds up as the spell progresses. I got to the last spell against Shou and inadvertently timed out the green rotating laser spell.
The kind of dense circle bullets that come up in stage 4 and 5 in really stupid quantities is just a pain in the side. Lastly, Reimu with needles is really strong and the bomb is a pleasure to use.
Random idea: try Murasa's timeout card unfocused. The speed boost you get will likely help keep the angry sailor away since the actual bullet pattern is simple.
I've tried Mamizou, and she is the second easiest. Third easiest would be Ran, if I could figure out how to get past that Ultimate Buddhist spellcard of hers... But Mokou's Volcano spellcard will trip me up until I practice my way past it... it makes it really easy since you can practice spellcards on both IN and TD, hence the easier Extra Bosses...
You freaking suck... I've tried everything against Mother-Fucking-Murasa's timeout card at the end... I still horribly lose all my lives to it.

Thats actually a good thing. Progress in the difficulty curve is nice to see. It looks easier than it is. Having to make circles around the screen appears to be a common UFO theme too. It reminds of Miko's spellcard where she summons Soga and Futo but the two will not play similarly at all.See. Mokou is relatively easy to deal with right? What did you think of the Volcano card?
Good thing? That's the thing... and the entire stage... that are holding me back. I can get past Kogasa and Nazrin just fine, and a little difficulty with Ichirin.
Mokou... is relatively easy, since she is the easiest Extra stage boss out of the entire Touhou Project... but that Volcano card... your gifs make it slower than it actually is... and I die relatively easily on it. lol... *sigh*

Even speaking is easier said than done. I see, going to have to see how to maid responds to graze. Captain Murasa is stage 4 right? I recall her having a timeout card, which is strange like Aya in MoF. I really should play UFO on normal one of these days.Yes, Murasa has a timeout card. It's harder than Ran's similar spellcard Shikigami's Radiance "Princess Tenko -Illusion-". And Ran is an Extra Stage Boss... :(
Even Aya's timeout card is easier than Murasa's.
Murasa only has that timeout card when you play on Normal. You cannot encounter it while on Easy.
... 4.5 hours later: I got to Fujiyama Volcano...

Ganbatte Zanchan. Keep us informed on your progress to defeating your little sister.Laser Marisa uses Master Spark as the spellcard right? Do you have any tips on dealing with Sakuya? She threw a bone in my plans to be lazy the entire run.
Try the piercing needle shrine maiden for UFO. She's harder to use than Sanae but the small hitbox may be helpful.

Details at 1:45pm.[/b]
Heh... That's easier said than done... Yes, L-M is with the Master Spark spellcard. For Sakuya... most of her spellcards and some none spellcards can be dealt with with the smallest possible movements. I always hate her first none spellcard though...
I don't like Reimu or Marisa on UFO... they suck... And it's Captain Mother-Fuking-Murasa that gets me every time I try to play Normal mode...
And your private youtube video of you beating Fujiwara... you suck...

The picture of glasses actually doing that is amusing. To answer the question about the grenades. Spoiler:
Woah, did you use some sort of recording software or took the images frame by frame and pieced it together? It's well animated and nicely sized too.
I'm just as surprised as you are...

This is the time one.
And this is the claim, though someone rectified the neg and I appreciate it.
[size=0]Though having rep doesn't really matter, I just question the logic behind such actions[/h]
Other one fixed now. Rep loss for both is pure shit though
Thank you Calus, I appreciate it.

Ah. Thats a pain to practice then. Speaking of EoSD, I got to Remi's Vlad Tepes spellcard by remaining unfocused and staying at the bottom of the screen. Reimu + homing amulets. Who do you normally play with in UFO?
Yes, it is a pain... I've already 1cc-ed EoSD with Homing-Amulet-Reimu and Laser-Marisa, have yet to do so with Persuasion-Needle-Reimu and Missile-Marisa. H-A-R is by far the easiest to 1cc EoSD.
I play with Suwako-Sanae.
