True, it's convenient for him because he lives in tropical country, so no matter what month it is, the period is not gonna change much, whereas for me who lives in Australia, it all depends on the season, and I just hateee it when I have to fast in Summer.
But fasting in winter is fabulous.

Well, I think I should explain how all this fasting month means. It's not like we're not allowed to eat at all for 30 days. So, there's this thing we call 'sahur', something similar to breakfast. The only difference is that it has to be done before subuh prayer time comes, which is about 4.30 AM in my time zone. And we are allowed to eat and drink again after the maghrib prayer time comes, which is about 5.30 PM. During the fasting period (4.30-5.30), eating and drinking is obviously not allowed. Also sex and everything related to it (which is why I can only post after tarawih prayer is finished).

If it's so good, why don't you do it year round? Because fasting all year long is not permitted. There are times when fasting are suggested, but there are also times where fasting is not permitted. Pretty complex stuff.
