Hay FAKKUers, this here's a quick readme for any visitors to the Artist/Circle Information Board. Here you'll find out just what's in here, how you add info, and all sorts of useful information.
Frequently Asked Questions: UPDATED July 9, 2007
1. Why haven't you added info about [Artist/Circle] yet, you jerk?! They're the best!
Keep in mind that this board is NOT private. All guests can view it and all registered forum members can post in it. It's here so that collectors like you and me can find and distribute information on their favorite artists and doujinshi circles!
So if you haven't seen information on your favorite artists added, ADD IT! It's simple, easy, and many will thank and love you for it!
2. But I don't know any circles!
That's why this board is here. And even if you have but one release that you know the artist of, feel free to post a topic and request the information! The ideal topic format doesn't require that you know everything about an artist, just what you can see with your eyes, think about with your mind, type with your fingers, and post with your INTERWEBS.
3. I can't add the info, my collection isn't complete!
It doesn't need to be. All you need to do is open the discussion. See an artist you want to add, and know their pen name or circle title? Open a topic and add some info, start up a release list, and you're golden! The idea is that members of the community who recognize it will add what they know to the pool of knowledge, benefiting all.
4. Why did you get such a stupid idea in the first place?
It seems to be a talent of mine. Also, I noticed that FAKKU categorizes all its manga and doujinshi by series. That's not going to bode well for organization as time goes on. Plus, there are many reasons to add that information. Here's why:
[list]
[*]MOAR new anime and topics for perverted parody come out EVERY DAY. It's hard enough keeping up with the normal stuff, much less the fap material. FAKKU will end up adding more and more categories, until the drop-down lists EXPLODE.
[*]Not every title is translated equally. Let's face it. Not all of us speak effectively this moon-language most of our porn is in. If we did, we'd be getting it off of Share or Winny and not care about FAKKU. But we do upload on occasion, and not every way we title or stuff is the same. One might be titled "the one where Sakaki rapes that guy", but its actual title might be something completely different that you just didn't understand. But almost everyone can identify a famous artist. It might not matter WHAT something is called, so long as everyone can identify who it's from.
[*]Sometimes you can find new gems in the rough. Artists change styles on occasion, and it can be quite interesting to notice that your favorite artist is releasing work that's quite different from when you first discovered him. Case in point: Nakayohi Mogudan and the evolution of his Rei.
[*]It's good for collectors. Collectors list what they have, and the community can help to fill the gap. Everyone wins!
[/list:u]
4. What should a new info entry look like?
You can post as much new info as you have in any legible format and layout you see fit, so long as it effectively organizes the info you're distributing. Being the first contributer, my entries have looked something like this:
As a tip for organizing the release lists, group like releases by separating with line breaks. Try grouping series releases together (like say, Digital Lover's "D.L. Action" set) so they're easier to read.
You might want to include some pictures or samples, the better to describe an artist's work.
5. Your info topic on [Artist/Circle] sucks big time! How do I right this crime against humanity with new correct info or list updates?!
Just add a reply! Anyone bored enough to be looking for detailed information about his favorite creators is likely to read the thread. If you can, keep an update to a similar format as the original post, and try not to add old information or info that's already in the original post.
Which brings me to my last point: DISCUSSION IS FREE!
6. So what now?
JOIN THE FIGHT! Add info on your favorite artists and circles! FAKKU's staff will be using that info to add to currently hosted work, so when you contribute, you make the site better in the process!
EDIT: Edited to be simpler and to reduce workload all around. Sorry if it looks like I'm copping out of regular updates, Jacob, but I'll try to keep the board clean.

4. What should a new info entry look like?
You can post as much new info as you have in any legible format and layout you see fit, so long as it effectively organizes the info you're distributing. Being the first contributer, my entries have looked something like this:
Artist/Circle: STUDIO BLAHBLAH
Artist Pen Name: BLAHBLAH TANAKA
Website: www.blahblahstudios.co.jp
Description:
Well known for being used as an example in forum board information topics, Studio Blahblah is characterized by not having any actual work released. That said, his lines are quite clean.
Content Spectrum:
Blahblah Tanaka has shown a surprising propensity for not actually releasing any content. Interviews suggest that if he did, it would be about shitting dick-nipples. Perhaps it's best that he maintains his tendencies.
Release List (last updated whenever there was last a release):
Blahblah strikes 1-5 (Gundam Seed Destiny)
Blahblah smacks 1-3 (Detective Conan/Case Closed)

I posted in the comments, but the "Tomomi Ichirou Quarterly (summer, fall, winter)" doujinshi is actually based on Sakura Taisen 3, not dead or alive. Just FYI.
Thanks! Checking the website it seems DL's been around even longer than Kimigabuchi, and he/they have even more releases than the DL series. Once I get back from work I'll add a couple more circles.
As a disclaimer though, these two are among my favorites, so I naturally have more detailed info. A lot of circles don't have websites or don't update regularly, or do so in a manner that I can't effectively read, so not every release list will be as detailed as the first two. Some may in fact only reflect what I have or have otherwise seen elsewhere.
Incidentally, I did once upload a big DL torrent to datorrents some time ago. I seeded, it died, and someone decided to reupload it. Not sure if that's got seeds, as datorrents can't tell anymore and it's been a long time, but here's a link:
http://datorrents.com/torrents-details.asp?id=12853
It's over 8 months old, but datorrents lists the last seeder as 2 days ago, so someone might get lucky.

Circle Name: Studio Kimigabuchi
Artist Pen Name: Entokkun (previous) Kimimaru (current)
Website: http://kimigabuchi.com
Description:
More than 11 years old as of 2007, Kimigabuchi is a prolific doujinshi circle with a large fan base among both Japanese and non-Japanese nerds.
Famous primarily for its often very dark and twisted storylines, often including characters being raped, killed, committing suicide, or other fan-horrifying acts.
Through its storylines, the circle has destroyed many popular anime and manga franchises, including Evangelion, Sakura Taisen, Magic Knight Rayearth, Yakitate! Japan, Keroro Gunsou/Sergeant Frog, Gunbuster, Nadia, Love Hina, Negima, Dragon Quest, Azumanga Daioh, Code Geass and Genshiken/Kujibiki Unbalance.
Fans often remark that the writing and plots are "too painful/fucked-up to fap to."
Upon examination of its release history, only a fraction of its many works since 1996 has actually turned up in the channels frequented by English-speaking otaku.
Kimigabuchi's most famous work among English-speaking fans is "RE-TAKE", a time-travel story featuring Neon Genesis Evangelion's Shinji traveling back to a turning point in the series' plot to right some wrongs, be a man about things, and screw the brains out of Asuka.
Content Spectrum:
Kimigabuchi doesn't shy away from shocking the reader, and many of its darker releases border on guro (such as raping an amputee). All the while, though, in terms of graphic content, the circle skirts the borders, never appealing solely to fetishes (except rape, futanari, and the occasional lolicon), instead letting the STORIES drive home the fact that the reader SHOULD be feeling guilty and dirty for pawing at himself while reading these things.
Release List (Last updated April 16, 2007):

Circle: Digital Lover
Artist Pen Name: Nakajima Yuka (ãªã‹ã˜ã¾ã‚†ã‹)
Website: http://digitallover.net/
Description:
Digital Lover is known primarily for a long series of popular Ragnarok Online doujinshi. The artist--Nakajima Yuka--'s style is characterized by light lines, handwritten dialog (less common with later work), and minimal use of tones or computer coloring (also less common of recent work).
Not every issue of D.L. Action has been pornographic, and covers a wide range of franchises and licenses, including Tsukihime, Fate/Stay-Night, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, and even Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! and Trauma Center.
But by far the bulk of releases have concentrated on Ragnarok Online. More than half of "D.L. Action" and nearly all of "D.L. Action Rough Sketch" have featured a set of recurring R.O. characters and continuous sex-filled plotlines.
Most of Digital Lover's releases are also known for detailed, fanfic-level writing, raising it above the usual ero-doujinshi level of "let's take this character and rape her" tropes. Not to say that the writing is actually very good, but most of the releases (particularly for RO and recent Haruhi products) feature recurring characters and even large and complex "relationship charts". This can be seen as well in later "Seifuku Rakuen" installments.
Content Spectrum:
The bulk of the circle's work has been generally straight, so-called "Happy Sex", with occasional forays into mild lolicon and a small body of yaoi work.

Fakku's becoming a really great resource for people without the patience to fight /h/ for every rapidshare link or the time to keep up with bloodfer, but there's just one thing missing that could make site organization and searching much easier, especially as the site grows.
It's artist/circle information. Right now, at least as I've found it, Fakku works mainly by series, and that's well and good, but a lot of people like to collect by artist. Like Giri giri sisters is by Gunma Kisaragi and that "School Uniform" Bleach doujinshi series is by ORANGE SOFT, and so on.
I suggest that artist/circle/developer info be posted in the "blurb" for the different manga (maybe even some the images/games/videos).
It'll help immensely when folks are trying to find just the one missing piece of their series, and it'll add an easy way to organize the different manga, especially when the title is in question, or has been translated for its upload to the site.
Because there are so many ways to read the title of a manga or doujinshi (translate it, transliterate it, describe it etc), it's easy to miss something you're looking for simply because it was labeled differently. But it's a rare day when someone can't identify a manga by the artist or circle's personal style.
Adding circle or artist info also helps people organize their own collections, and can increase contributions as folks look through their folders and find out that they've a lot of stuff by this guy or that guy and decide to send it in or torrent it and such. Artist info also encourages contributions of series that aren't yet given sections on the site, which boosts diversity and makes the site more useful to everyone looking for new IP to fap to.
New artist info can also come in, connecting works you might not think related, even by artistic style. For example, the Bleach doujinshi Yasai Matsuri and Yoruichi Matsuri, both available on Fakku, don't look similar, but are actually by Eringi Yukiguni, an artist of "Variable?" and reflect his changing style. His circle also created the "Oneepaizuri" Oneechambara doujinshi and the "Call me Vega" Gear Fighter Dendoh doujinshi, much requested on /h/ (though not yet uploaded to Fakku). I only found that out after downloading it via Fakkue 10 minutes ago).
It's info like that that makes collecting and contributing both fun and faptastic.
