Anyone played?
Beautifully designed, great control, awesome characters, unique game play features.
But...hard as shit! I swear! Even on easy mode I get my ass kicked.

more specifics would be nice. console, type of game(fps, rpg etc) and where i can get it.@ Bluesummers: I played it on Normal until the final book. I switched to Easy then simply because I knew I could beat it, yet being on Normal made it too tedious. It is my second favorite RPG.

You can change difficulty ingame?
Oh, boy. Great. I've been stuck on the Underqueen in book 1 because of her Massive Lag Attack.
Seriously. It's infuriating.

I have this game and I'm partway through playing it. I would have beaten it by now but I've been watching a lot of anime and playing City of Heroes/Villains.

Played from beginning to end on hard, game is pretty easy. The art is amazing as is the voice acting. Over all game play is old school and great too.

I picked it up with very high hopes and was a little disapointed. The POW bar and ultra-limited storage space is really annoying and the combat is a little to simplistic for me, however I'm still in book one so I can't really say that now though.
Aside from that the game is amazing in every other way.

Agreed, though POW doesn't really bother me. But limited storage is annoying and frustrating.

The POW Bar is a bit annoying, but since it restores even while running (except for Mercedes), hit-and-run attacks become ideal. Money is only useful for two things: cooking and storage bags. There's a lot of inventory management in Odin Sphere. The best thing to do is to use the stuff that's taking up space to increase the number on the alchemy bottles. You'll find that it's very easy to get a 9 and a 10, then you can combine them to get a 90. Anyway, once you get the maximum amount of storage space, it becomes far less of a hassle.

I'm surprised there are a few FAKKU members that play this, I picked it up for like $15 brand new with a coupon.
I'm almost finished with Book 2 and haven't touched it since June. Indeed the art is beautiful, but at times with so much enemies there are some lag spikes which is pretty annoying and some long loading times, but that doesn't ruin the game entirely, ok maybe for others, haha.
This game is pretty unique and I expected something different before playing it.
Most games should have the feature of switching the voices because I like the Japanese more.

Woah, how'd you get it at such a good price? I payed the full $50 and I got it in, like, April. What coupons are you using and where do you get them?
Also I think the voice acting is pretty good, although I don't have a big problem with english voice acting anyway, unless it is so bad that it becomes deadly. :P

Absolutely beautiful game, I only played a few hours into it before I stopped. Can't remember why... I think I just ran out of time. I do remember one of the boss battles being really laggy though.
But this has inspired me to find it and play.

Yeah the boss battles can be a bit laggy but it doesn't really make the fight any harder and they're pretty short boss battles for an RPG so it's not a big deal imho.

They had a "final cut sale" or something at EB Games/ GameStop, they sold it for $15. I bought the game when it came out, but sold it back a few days later 'cause I hated it. But I had to get it for $15 so I did. And it's great.

If PS3 wasn't a gimp as far as backwards compatibility goes, this would be the perfect game to play on it. I'd imagine the PS3 hardware would of made short work of the admittedly frustrating lag. *sigh*
I made it to book 4 than stopped playing, the dark knight dude just plays so differently then the rest. He has shorter reach than the rabbit for Christ's sake.

Ahh! Luckely for you, my darling, Sony is realising an "extention" pack for all PS3 owners. It makes it so PS3 is 100% backward compatible.
Good news, eh?
