Whether it is worth buying, I wouldn't know since I never buy any of my anime. Whether it was worth watching, it definitely was worth watching. It was more or less humor in a fantasy setting that was interesting to the end. Louie's antics were just hilarious. I recommend watching it.

It's pretty old, so searching the net for subs might be difficult, I'm lucky cause I watched it on the local tv channel.
Btw kaimax, do you have any Suggestion for animes that are similiar to Rune Soldier and Record of Lodoss War??...that kind of Rune fantasy themed anime...

I'm watching this Rune Soldier Right now, and I'm Fuckin LOVE it!!!...Highly Recommended for those who hasn't watched it....too bad i can't find the subbed version, but the DUb isn't sucks like the other dubbed anime, it's pretty good....Reminds me of Zero Tsukaima world...minus Ecchi but Plus Comedy....

I've only watched the first one, so I don;t know the timeline. Check Myanimelist.com or just go wikipedia to find out.

It's not bad ...louies a bit of an idiot but I have to say the 3 girls are a cruel to him a little TOO much to be entertaining and it gets old really qyuickly.
Slayers is a better option and has better characters if you are looking for an anime based on similar themes.

it wasnt too bad an average watch that has its moments, agree that the girls are pretty cruel towards Louie, and the female warrior is really butch its freaky :P

Rune Soldier is very comparable to Slayers for those that enjoyed that series and Vice Versa. I personally really enjoyed this series a lot.
As for the order of Slayers it goes; Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Try, Slayers Revolution, and later this year or the new year Slayers Evolution-R

If your looking for another series with a similar theme to Rune Soldier and Slayers try Those Who Hunt Elves...I watched it a loooong time ago but remember it being pretty good and very funny. :)

If anyone watched the ending of Rune Soldier, I kinda knew that Louie was kinda special since the beginning, though it had nothing to do with his magic abilities.
