NANA

I just started watching the anime NANA so far it rocks man I'm on episode 8 and watching it right now as we speak, I'm not usually into this kind of genre but it got me hook and the better thing is that I'm watching it with divX which makes the quality superb. I know the anime is about a year old and the manga is about 5 years, so I'm kinda late but don't matter x]

Wrong forum?
I've been keeping up with the downloads, but haven't really started watching it yet. It's gathering dust in my to-watch list along with some horror anime.

More bumps from the depths of the forums. Whats my favourite Shoujo anime doing at the 20th page and no discussion?! This cannot do!
Anyway, since I fail at making good synopsis. Heres the one from MyAnimeList.
Komatsu Nana moves to Tokyo, following after her boyfriend Shouji to gain a life she has always dreamed of. On a train bound for Tokyo, she meets Osaki Nana, the vocalist for the punk rock band "Blast", also moving to Tokyo to achieve her dreams of becoming a professional. Sharing the same name, the two of them perhaps through a twist of fate, ended up becoming flat mates in Tokyo, where together they support each other through each of their love lives and careers.
This isn't your usual romance story where a simple kiss is the ulimate goal and cheating means going to the amusement park with another girl. Sex is openly mentioned and the general setting is abit more mature than the usual.
Very realistic and the emotions of the various characters are explored very well. There were afew unexpected twists added and I was totally expecting someone different to end up with Kamatsu Nana.
At 47 episodes it is also longer than your average anime but I didn't feel that a single episode was out of place or wasted. It also follows closely with the manga so you know you aren't watching a production that has cut some scenes or story. The manga is still ongoing and season 2 was announced to air after the end of the manga. The 2nd season would natually finish the series and this being part of the music genre anime>manga.

Haha, high five dude, at least somewhere here on FAKKU there's a fan of it what a shame though this show is not known or loved by members of FAKKU?!? Oh I wish they would come out with season 2 already, not sure if it was a rumor or it's still in production though.

NANA is pretty much win on both fronts - manga, anime. The first live action movie was good imo, the second one fell through for me ... mainly because of the acting, and they failed to retain the actors from the first one. None the less, I hope the series is continued with like the current continuation of Ippo!

I love NANA! It reminds me of an emotional roller coaster of sorts. The recent manga updates are just... they made me cry a bit. Ai Yazawa has a certain style that really appeals to me. The anime did a good job but the manga just has those scenes that make your heart cringe just from the expressions on their faces. Seriously, this is my all time favorite anime/manga.
