Blassreiter...

Just finished watching the thing (waited for O-L to finish it in hd because the streaming versions were crap) and honestly I think ... the show deserves some attention.
From what I read a lot of people stopped watching this after the first couple of eps because it looked like a show about motorcycle races with some majorly hideous CG's. While I can't blame them, if you stick around long enough you will be rewarded IMO. After getting used to the action scene CG's you actually notice that they are carried out with great detail and dynamic. Also the non-combat art is perfectly normal and very pretty.
As for the story itself ... can't really say much without spoiling. I'll only say that after the first mini-arc (witch is definitely the worst and most useless part of the show), the series gains a tremendous amount of depth and drama along with a complete change of setting. From this point on it becomes an excellent and well-paced, futuristic action series with a serious and sad background.
All in all - it's a Gonzo :P
They screwed up the setting (a Japaneese image of Germany), they made some majorly hideous yet high budget CG's and they gotten overly dramatic at times. Yet under those flaws you'll find a surprisingly good and deep action series witch is IMO worth watching if you're low on interesting anime you haven't yet seen (as I was).
Some screencaps:
Oh and - in case someone's interested, go to http://otaku-legends.net/ for download links. I'm not promoting the group or anything. It's just that they're the only ones who released it in proper quality.

"kindred souls" aren't we?
oh, and even Faye Valentine is your waifu now! (I also like her)
I've seen Blassreiter for awhile now. I actually liked it how it began until eventually, my feelings deteriorated around the end. This is just another typical GONZO = FAIL kind of series, IMHO.
But like you said, if you're running out of animes to watch, Blassreiter can still fill that void. It has a very good drama (character development wise) although it failed to deliver a decent ending through all of that.
you might also be interested to know that there's a hand full of ladies in this series as well, and DELICIOUSLY HOT LADIES at that!

just don't expect too much from the animation department...your eyes will burn! (you'll know what that means if you watch this)
and here's Joseph the "Martyr" (Joseph is the lead character and that's my second name!!)

~did I still forgot to mention something?~
in addition, if you enjoy listening or in to music... Blassreiter has a wonderful Soundtrack!
I'll leave the torrent links of the OP, ED, & OST for those who're interested...
OP1 Detarame na Zanzou by GRANRODEO
OP2 unripe hero by Kuribayashi Minami
ED1 sad rain by Misato Aki
ED2 A Wish For The Stars by Itou Kanako
