Stargate Universe

So any Stargate fans here? I was surprised to find no SG1 or Atlantis threads but since those are gone now in with the new.

The story is their on a ship and it keeps changing galaxies every like few days. In that time they visit planets, a cool way too look at an old series, but seems kind of like Atlantis.

I liked the movie a lot, but I haven't watched anything beyond that.

I'm guessing the first movie? I would have to say SG1 great fucking series Richard Dean Anderson and Michel shanks have this great banter that just made the series. One of the best for sci-fi fans.

SG1 is a great series. Whenever its on and theres not too much else, I watch it, rerun or not.

Also, loving the fact they use P90's.

I'm not a fan of a Stargate show without any SGC. I trust the writers to write something awesome, but I can't imagine it being any good. Plus, it seems like a rip of Voyager.

Like Nikon I'm a bit worried. I own all of SG1 and watched all of SGA and the movies. Anyone want to remind me when it starts? (along with Eureka and other shows?)

I'm a pretty big Stargate fan. I'm looking forward to it.

I actually prefered Atlantis to SG-1.

Ok so I'm a little late I know but I wasn't sure if I liked the series yet.

Episodes 1-4 out and I have to say I didn't like episodes 1-2 they jump around way to much having 3 separate stories all at the same time is to much chaos. Though I loved 3-4 and if this is how the series is going to go down well I'll be tuning in each week. It doesn't really feel like Stargate though I am very glad it's not just another Atlantis. Oh and the guest appearances are all pretty good and bring out the fan boy in me.

Well, the show seems to be good so far but it's a bit early to judge. I'm glad that they've stuck with their tradition of finding random alien objects and giving them fun names.

I've never seen the movie or the other series, but I'm enjoying this show. I'm going to have to check out the others.


Also, isn't the guy from 28 Weeks Later in this?

He's also from the Full Monty, which is a much better role/movie.

You should check out SG1 it's a great series, but Atlantis is really only worth it if your a total fan boy of the series.

I actually heard that a lot of people who didn't even watch or like SG1 liked Atlantis and in some ways I liked it better.

Yes Richard Dean Anderson (Jack Oneill with two L's) is the star of SG1 for a number of seasons; and main character for a number of others. He also makes numerous guest appearances in the other two spin offs.



Actually I could see that, because Atlantis is not very similar to SG1. I'm a massive SG1 fan and only like Atlantis as much as it has a stargate in it. They focus way to much on continuing story lines and cool looking alien technology not enough on visiting planets and story. When SG1 was at it's best it was on an episode by episode basis (visit planets run into problem fix problem) and had the continuing story in the background.

I've never watched any of the Stargate series, but a friend recommended Stargate Universe to me and I'm loving it! Eli is so funny and the show is pretty gripping. I hope this doesn't get canceled.

Oddly I was expecting what happened to happen but was kinda surprised that it actually did.
