The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Movie
0
Alrighty everyone. It seems that after the whole Endless Eight fiasco, Kadokawa decided to make amends with Haruhi fans, and thus, has announced a movie for the The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi story arc. Here's a small teaser trailer as well as two new links:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-10-08/disappearance-of-haruhi-suzumiya-film-announced-for-2010
So...how does everyone feel about this announcement? I'm a bit skeptical, given Kadokawa's track record, but maybe they finally learned not to troll their fans anymore? We can only hope.

Just 1 still image, not much to say. But yes, I'm looking forward to this!
People are seriously overreacted about the Endless Eight drama. It's over now, alright? We got passed that and it doesn't mean everything else Haruhi-related will directly result into crap.

Wow! This is cool! When it went out?
I just read the novel, so I think this is going to become a good movie

Trailer says 2010, but we don't have a solid release date. Probably a good while after Fate/Stay night, though, lol.

This is going to become interesting.
Because the story is connected to a manga called The Dissapearance of Nagato Yuuki (Topic Discussion : https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?t=23576)
Where there are another world where Literature Club exist and SOS Brigade doesn't

I for one didn't like this. The only good part about this means that Disappearance (the best arc) will have very high production values. The bad part is that a lot of people won't get to see this. The Disappearance is a very, very important arc for Haruhi. I can't imagine how they're going to continue the TV series with many people not seeing this.

well.. they must make up for the 8 endless eight which makes the haruhi fans go on rage
why movie???IMO they should focus on re-animating the manga...

Curious and Wondering
I'm piqued as to how Kadokawa will present this particular storyline. I just hope they don't bomb it.

Not many people? Isn't a movie far more accessible than an anime series? No need for Tenchi a mid-series recap. I mean, if Miyazaki and Evangelion are anything to go by, this should be perfect for Haruhi.

A movie does leave out a lot of people. The people overseas, like most of Fakku, for one. Even legally, there are problems, since not everyone is going to shell out money to see a movie, or can afford to go to the theater a lot.
I remember when Power Rangers did something like that. They released two movies, and in each one, they got new powers and robots. I saw the first one but not the second. When the next season or whatever came on, I had no idea what was going on. There were new enemies, new allies, new weapons, etc. Thankfully, I didn't care much about Power Rangers at that point, but still, it kind of pissed me off.

Precisely. For those of you who read the novels, you should know that the Disappearance doesn't end in one arc. If the movie actually uses Disappearance, no doubt will it affect Season III. Maybe people will be quite pissed.

[font=Courier New] I FELT LIKE I DID A NECROBUMP.
OT:
Mazui released a speedsubbed version of a camrip of it.
I don't know if I can watch it without bleeding my eyes out.

Downloaded, watched 3 minutes and joyously deleted it from my HDD.
The wait for DVD release is just so damn worth it.
Screencap as evidence and YES, out of the 720x400, only the part you see on this pic is the actual movie resolution (though Mikuru going ~nyuuu~ is win even in this quality)

Audio's fine, some background noises but nothing too serious from what I've fastforwarded.
IT IS WATCHABLE, definitely good work for a camrip (to borrow a comment from animetake, "i applaud this communist cam ripper").
If you can't stand the wait for HQ, go for it. If you always bitch about eyecancers, stay away from this.
