Heroes of Newerth VS. League of Legends

Can't really make a fair statement atm because while the first vid shows actual gameplay, the 2nd vid only shows what could be an opening cutscene

my friend played LoL beta a while back,some thing concerns me though

He mentioned that there is no denying of creeps and the harassing ability of range over melee is abit OP.

He also mentions that there is grass patches on the map where heroes can hide and is not very visible?

HoN seems to be a reskin of the original dota with a few upgrades.Not that its anything bad,just that I wished they didnt change the hero.Like Luna in HoN is a spider

but if i had to chose between these 2, i'll go with HoN seems closer to the original and i havent even heard of LoL till today

also starting to shape up nicely with the current patches... just wish they would add in more unique heroes who dosen't actully play like a hero in dota

LoL has the edge on unique graphics imo, cell shaded ftw. LoL is far more casual, HoN is essentially DoTA after all. Regardless of the quality of these games they will never depart from DoTA's shadow.

imo i've played dota/hon and LoL (im still playing lol atm) and ofcourse lol wins because it is still free (against HoN)

On the other hand, HoN is a one time contribution (yeah, I know, the coins and shit for stuff that in no way affects gameplay) vs the system in LoL, where you can just play everything for free and grind it out, or speed it up by money contribution. Most people I know eventually succumbed to the lure of LoL's store (buying champs and stuff).

As for gameplay, LoL is less hardcore, a little slower. But I like HoN more atm, because in LoL I took an ELO-nosedive a while ago (trying odd shit in ranked) and now am in ELO hell.

HoN is full of rage, spiteful players at any skill level. Even no stat sometimes.
(got screamed at yesterday for not pulling a warded camp at 2 min mark)

If you want a less stressful playing environment, play with friends (keep it light, then you can joke and laugh at each other's blunders), or play support, ward up, even if you feed, no one will scream at you

My friend got me playing LoL, so I guess I'm more for that than Heroes.

I'd choose LoL, HoN's community is said to be very unforgiving for even minor mistakes.

Lets see, HoN seems like more for the serious competitors while LoL is more for the friends aspect (as it is also free). I play LoL and I have to say it is a VERY good free to play game. NO payment is require and you and unlock ALL of the things you need to be up to par with other players by just playing. Also, some powers are ridiculously overpowered in LoL. Dont know if thats true of HoN tho. Noobs are also quite annoying, as they tend to feed the game away.

Pretty much, this is why I've given up in the higher bracket,

Mess up once, OMG noob; mess up twice, Failure at life, plz uninstall; mess up thrice, down syndrome; mess up 4 times, BR's r being called (pretty much the worst insult of HoN community)

dunno why I haven't tried LoL, just heard it wasn't as engaging, (less strat more charge and kill)

I find HON good, you can't last HON though if you are not immune against trolls. LOL is somewhat imba because the higher the level, the better the hero. I like their concepts on the heroes though and they have a lot to pick.
