Matra Milan really did it this time.... He accepted anime state! lets just hope that this is longer and not the 12-episode levels....

*sigh* this looks like another sold out anime where they will sacrifice plotline for ecchi-ness.. It saddens me when they ruin a good manga like that..

The ecchi within the promo is well within the amount of ecchi in the manga. And it looks like the anime is going to cover a decent amount of plot.

Omamori Himari. Awesome manga. Now an anime. I am not disappointed yet. So watch it.
The first episode was broadcasted on TV Kanagawa on January 6, 2010.
Summary (--From Wikipedia--)
Seven years ago, Amakawa Yuuto's parents died leaving him living alone without a single relative. Ever since then, his childhood friend, Kuzaki Rinko, has woken him up, cooked for him and generally taken care of him. The only thing he has from any relative is a mysterious charm, a red ball, given to him by his grandparents as a good luck charm (an omamori).
From the day of his 16th birthday, his charm is said to not be able to protect him from evil spirits anymore, and Himari appears in Yuuto's life. Himari is a cat spirit-samurai girl and demon huntress who, aside from wanting to copulate with him madly, swears to protect Yuuto. There is only one small problem: Yuuto has a severe allergic reaction to cats.

Episode 4 is translated. Episode 5 airs February 3rd, 2010.

I'm really liking this anime ever since the manga translations stalled, although it's back up now. >w<
Anyway, looking forward to seeing more. It's cute. I like how Himari's voice was the VA who also did Horo from Spice and Wolf.

Although Omamori Himari is an anime title falling under the harem and fanservice genre, I believe it has been overlooked due to its censorship, as well as the presence of other, more risque, titles, such as Ladies vs Butlers.
Nonetheless, I will continue watching Omamori Himari to see if there is any development in its storyline. The limited fanservice and occasional jokes should keep me occupied too.

its been fun so far with Himari trying to seduce Yuuto whenever she can, although Rinka in the role of overbearing friend gets too much at times

Curious and Wondering
OK, finished watching episode 12. As the usual with 12-episode fanservice series, it was a swift and quick ending, with only a few episodes' buildup. Can't blame them - the manga's not even done yet.
But I sort of like how it ended.

Well, how it ended is also a possible way for the manga to end, and wasn't too bad in and of itself. But the whole two episodes laid it on way too thick. It's like I was watching fucking Index for all the moral preaching that was going on. And not just Rinko and others getting all morally indignant, but also how Tama's transformation was anti-climatic and how Himari's berserker rage quickly took out a Ninetails. What the hell?! And the overly convient Himari clothes transformation as well!

I really dont like it when they create an ending whereas the manga gas not even concluded yet. Still reading Omamori Himari and there has been a lot of development lately. I wonder if they will make an anime of this again after the whole things ends, but I guess that will be quite rare, but they did performed a re-make (or whatever they did w/ what they are showing now) of hunter X hunter following closely the events on the manga...
Yes, I can only dream on, err... state into space, for this to have a re-make...

There has been a lot of development happening now on the series. Too bad I cant buy the original print in the Philippines so I have no other options but to Dl it on mangatraders.com.
On the previous chapter Quess is still alive even after she was fatally wounded. It's really getting exciting again for what I can see. Hopefully, after the series ends, another anime adaptation will be made but I see this really slim.
