Seikon no Qwaser (2nd Season Airing on 11 Apr 2011)

I believe Nikon once started a thread about Seikon no Qwaser on the frontpage section of Fakku, but with the anime about to air soon, I believe this title deserves a thread over here too.
Nikon thread's: https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?t=19083
To start off, if the following image does not make you want to watch Seikon no Qwaser, I doubt anything else will:

To tell the truth, I don't know much about its storyline, although what I have read about the title and series suggests that there will be some religious undertones. Perhaps when I have more time on my hands later on, I will provide a short summary.
The main reason why I am watching this is obvious: fanservice. Breasts, breast-feeding and breast milk all appear to be key themes of said title. That being said, who else is intending to watch Seikon no Qwaser for the winter season of 2009?
Official anime website: http://www.qwaser.jp/
P.S. If my thread is a repeat, please kindly inform me so that I can lock or merge it with the original. Thank you.

I was worried that the series would turn PG-13 or something and take out the err...sucking, but after seeing the new trailer my worries are gone. It's practically a hentai aside from characters not having true sex.
The anime is gonna suck, pun intended.

To be honest, I had no idea that this was even an ecchi anime. I saw an ad for it and I just liked that guy with the huge scythe. An Eastern orthodox school seems like an interesting setting. Looks good so far, but I hope it's not all fan service.

As long as it has some kind of interesting plot I'll be watching it since the main dude looks pretty badass. Having said that, I do not have any intention to follow something as remotely bad as Queen's Blade.

Pfff... I knew it. First episode and they already ruined it.. too much humor and not even showing the "power up" scene .. I hope they at least won't screw over the plot-line>.<

I love the manga, the first episode was okay. They didn't royally fuck it up, so that's a good point. I do have one thing to say though. I want that bath tub from the ending.

CENSORS UP THE ASSI read somewhere that AT-X may be broadcasting the uncensored version, but the episodes will only come a couple of weeks after the original has aired. Unfortunately, I don't have a source to back up my claim, so we can only wait and see what happens.

Episode was shit...
I didn't enjoy the manga all that much either but this episode was just bullshittingly awful...
The censors pretty much killed what little enjoyment could have come from watching the episode.

I really enjoyed the episode, I'm looking forward to more. I don't mind anime with religious backgrounds. Anime is fiction to me regardless, I don't mind if they add a little pizazz to it. The only other manga I can think I've read that had religious backgrounds to it, was Angel Sanctuary (no not the movie, because that sucked).

Unfortunately, AT-X appears to be broadcasting the censored version too. However, looking on the bright side, one can always turn to the webcast version, or wait for the DVDs and Blu-rays to hit the market.
I have seen a bit of the uncensored episodes and I like what I have seen. :)

Oh and yes. I don't give a damn about the male lead, it's the girls and women that count.

I didn't think it would be possible, but the Anime has more Fanservice and Ecchi than the Manga (in the non-censored version anyway). I say there was an unfortunate shift in focus. The Manga was primarily about the the Action and the Story, and the Ecchi/Fanservice was secondary. The Anime is primarily about the Ecchi/Fanservice with the Action and Story being Scondary.
Sasha doesn't randomly grope random girl's boobs (he does with Tomo and Miyuri) like he does in the Anime to check the quality of their boobs, I mean Soma, and he only makes a crack about Mayufu's comparatively small boobs in the Manga once, instead of ALL THE TIME. Also Mayufu Tsundere bitchyness is seriously turned up a notch in the Anime (granted in the early chapters, Mayufu is pretty bitchy, but it goes away quickly and and I don't remember Mayufu being THAT bitchy in the early Manga chapters as she is in the Anime, though maybe it will change with the upcoming Anime version of the "Two-Faced Atomis" chapters).
My major grievance is that the Ecchi and Fanservice scenes in the Anime are drawn out and played up in comparison to the Manga. There's more Fancervice scenes in the Anime than in the Manga if you compare the chapters they take referance to, and the breast-sucking scenes are much longer (in the Manga, they're usually a panel long, a full page at MOST). And the fight scenes have been seriously neglected, as they are now much shorter, when in the Manga they usually the bulk of the chapter. (Granted, there is one element of Ecchi content that is greater in the Manga than in the Anime, and that is women are shown being raped. But that's more something for the purpouse of the plot, the point of those scenes in the Manga is more for story and not so much for the Ecchi).
All and all, I would say now that the Anime is the Mediocre product of the far superior Manga. Maybe the Anime can make up for it, but I doubt it.
