A Nightmare On Elm Street

I recently watched A Nightmare On Elm Street movie because i felt like watching a fun slasher movie and so i thought i would make a topic about these movies.

I have always been a Krueger fan even when i was little which too some degree has to do with the fact that my name is Freddie but mostly because he's a badass character.

I like all the Elm Street movies and I of course have all of them since i'm a big fan of them.

So i wonder do we have any other fans of the Elm Street movies and Freddy Krueger here, and do you have a favorite movie?

I thought this was just going to be bitching about the reboot movie being made. Glad to see I was wrong. :)

I love the movies, and Freddy. I saw them all when I was a kid, but I don't remember too much about any of the movies, except the first two and New Nightmare. (And Freddy vs Jason, but that barely counts.)

My favorite movie has to be either the first one or New Nightmare. The first one had it all. Everything was brand new, the kills were amazing, the ending was great, etc. New Nightmare made a very interesting spin on the story, and the kills were also top-notch. Man, makes me want to watch all the movies again.

For three or four years, I dressed up as Freddy for Halloween, as a kid. I still have the mask in a box somewhere. Good times.

When I was a kid I loved them they are the only films I can remember being a fan along with star wars.

I remember at school I got in trouble cause I had written the film into my "What I did this weekend" report.

The originals were best, They always made me jump and they got me into watching the scary movie genre.

To be honest this movie is so old, and still people have make newer version of the movie.. i remember first time i saw the movie.. and it was scary as hell

I'm going to have to be a stick in the mud and say these movies are absolutely terrible, anti climatic, and the series has been milked more than the pokemon anime.

I'm excited about the new movie and I want to see if they manage to capture the essence of the Elm Street series.

About the costume you had, did you also have the glove?

Nope, only the mask. I don't know if they even sold a glove like his back then.

I'm also looking forward to the new movie. People can bitch all they want, but the fact is, Robert Englund's getting too old to be Freddy, and the movie series has done everything possible. The only thing left to do is start over. And if it's bad, you can just skip it. You don't have to watch every movie that gets made, after all.

It would be cool to have a Krueger glove.


I agree but even if he is getting old i think he would be able to pull it of, because if there's no Robert Englund then there is no Freddy Krueger.

At least that's what i think.

I'll miss Robert Englund as Freddy but I think Jackie Earl Haley can pull it off. I'm still weary of this remake though. Wes Craven didn't write it, which doesn't necessarily mean it'll be bad but as history has proven, the ones that he wasn't involved with were of a much lower quality. But we'll see.

@GoM We'll see if Jackie can pull it off, maybe he'll do a good job as Krueger.

We will just have to wait and see.

Is it just me or was Freddy in the original movie just a child killer or was he a pedo too... because the new movie shines the pedo light now i can't remember if the original was too.

You would suspect he was a bit of a pedo in the old ones seeing as it was only children he went after but it was about the child killing, but the new movie did indeed shine a light on the pedo side.

Bug fix

im not saying this movie was terrible, but it didn't get to me as much as the old one.

The ending scared the shit out of me... the original one i saw when i was five... in the movie theater... laughed my ass off.

The scariest one was the first one but my favourite one was probably Freddy's Dead.
