I heard about this from a friend at a expo.
Im waiting for the 5th gen pokemon because I like collecting them all :3. It was a nice move to remake Gold and silver with 4th gen's graphics and gameplay.
MissingNo. should be the god of the pokemon universe due to it can crash your game just by letting it attack you :>.
Hopefully the champion will be harder than all gens since the others were pushovers with lvl 60+ pokemon or a well built team.

New games are always nice, but there really are too damn many different Pokémon already...

I'll wait and see, because I'm honestly curious as to what they can do that hasn't been done yet :\

I'm wishing for the elite four in this game will be at least as tough as a standard competitive battler...

There's a limit to everything. Even 3rd gen had already way too many Pokémon, not to mention the 4th. Collecting them all, and that's what you're expected to do, gets harder and harder. And really, the new Pokémon are sometimes rather silly, and/or don't really add anything to the game.

It's quite easy to play through the game and reach them, but that's usually the point where you just run into a wall and need to start grinding to get your Pokémon strong enough to take them on.

Hmm...to give a rough idea about it...
Almost any pokemon from competitive sweeping category can rip through all current 4 elites + champion with the aid of 4 hyper potions and 4 lava cookie, which to most of them unnecessary...
We can always make the pokemon automatically at level 100 for the league battles, like DS wifi battle~ what's important is strategy.

Indeed, and I'll agree that the idea of more pokemon can be exciting. But I miss the old days of the originals when I knew all of them. Unfortunately I lost interest and didn't play another until Diamond and Pearl. Now it's a bit overwhelming and I miss the old ones, but I can deal with variety.

@hale: lol, I don't even play diamond and pearl. All I want is new possibilities and strategies in competitive battling, which is awesome.

The only thing this means to me is another 100-150 pokemon to memorize. I was kinda hoping they would have stayed true to there word and didn't make any new generations though. They've already covered just about everything. I mean, fuck, you can already catch GOD for fucks sake. Unless they introduce Satan, I don't know what types of legendaries they're gonna release...
Exhausted: God, Time, Space, All human emotions, chaos, dogs, birds, aliens, clones, mother nature, wishing stars. Seriously, whats left?

Firstly, most people who purchase the game will not be playing it in the same style as us competitive players. The Elite Four must be designed so that normal players can still "beat the game".
Secondly, any competitive player should know that beating them only gets you a two-star trainer card. Getting the full-fledged five-star card is as hard as competitive battling gets - 200 straight wins in the Battle Tower. That is no easy feat. It requires the utmost strategy, EV spreads and the perfect team to achieve.
I see no problems in keeping this the same. :)

This isn't true. You can take on the Elite Four with all your Pokemon 10 levels lower than theirs if you have the right strategy. :) But I understand that without any strategy, most people just rely on their legendaries to blast through the Elite Four, but legendaries are hard to level up. That's what makes it 'hard' - because it's time consuming.
Remember, the Elite Four is designed so that those little kiddies who buy this game for fun can still get to see the ending credits as well. The Battle Tower is designed to even give us, the Pros, a hard time. This game appeals to all. :D

lol, it's funny how I understand everything in this except for trainer card, stars and battle tower...
well, of course that wish is just a joke. or maybe not. You can use ubers to go against elite 4, plus tons of item support too... >_> so it should still be ok, since elite 4 usually use BL and UU, and rarely OU.

Yes, I can take them on with all my Pokémon 10 levels lower than theirs. No legendaries, just the team I've had through the whole game. Did this in all games I have. But I usually reach them with even lower levels.
