Front Page and Back Page

The right side is the front page of the Black and White "Master Document" while the right side is its back page.
Each Black and White game case comes inside a box that has artwork of Zekrom and Reshiram with their tails illuminated.
Depending on the version you get, the outer box has black or white patterns infringing upon the background.
As a reminder, the games will be released on September 18th for 4800 yen each (around $50).

Pages 2 and 3

The Victini you capture after obtaining the Liberty Ticket will know the attacks Incinerate, Quick Attack, Endure, and Confusion. Incinerate has 15pp and burns the Berries on your opponents, making them completely unusable.
Victini's PokeDex entry: "It makes limitless energy inside its body. It releases this energy on any Pokemon who touches it."
Victini is the Victory Pokemon, a dual Psychic / Fire type, stands 0.4m tall, and weighs 4.0kg. It is #000 in the Isshu PokeDex.

Pages 4 and 5

The Manaphy distribution for fourth generation games is advertised. It will take place from August 14 to September 12 at McDonalds and Nintendo Zones in Japan. The Level 50 Manaphy is holding a Lansat Berry and knows Aqua Ring, Water Pulse, Water Sport, and Heart Swap.

Victini is in the basement of the lighthouse on Liberty Garden Island. Apparently, you are investigating an incident on the island and meet Victini in the process. It'll reappear if you K.O. it accidentally. To access this area, you need the Liberty Ticket; its distribution will take place from September 18th to October 18th via Wi-Fi.

Swana (スワンナ) is the Swan Pokemon, a Water / Flying type. Its abilities are Keen Eye or Pigeon Heart. It has a new attack called Windstorm, which changes in accuracy depending on the weather. It stands 1.3m tall and weighs 24.2kg.

Gigaiasu (ギガイアス) is the High Pressure Pokemon and a pure Rock-type. Its ability is Sturdy. While the Sturdy ability originally negated one-hit knockout moves (like Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, and Sheer Cold), it now prevents ANY move from knocking out the Pokemon in one hit (similar to the Focus Sash item). Thus, one HP will be left on Gigaiasu if you hit it with an attack that would completely knock it out. If Gigaiasu turns out to be the local Rock-type cave resident, it's going to be even more annoying to get through a bunch of them! Gigaiasu stands 1.7m tall and weighs 270.0kg.

Kurumiru (クルミル) is the Sewing Pokemon, a dual Bug / Grass type. Its two abilities are Swarm and Chlorophyll. It has a new attack called "Bug Resistance" which hits two Pokemon at once. It stands 0.3m tall and weighs 2.5kg.

Moguryuu (ムグリュー) is the Mole Pokemon, a pure Ground-type. Its abilities are Sand Throw or Sand Power, the second of which increases its attack power during sandstorms. It has a new attack called "Drill Liner." Its evolution, Doryuuzu (ドリュウズ), was revealed on Oha Suta over five weeks ago. Moguryuu stands 0.3m tall and weighs　8.5kg.

Mamambou (ママンボウ) is the Nursing Pokemon and a Water-type. It has the Hydration ability as well as a new one called Healing Heart, which cures its teammates of Status Conditions. Judging by its appearance, it is Luvdisc's evolution; Electivire was not revealed to be Electabuzz's evolution until much later. Mamambou stands 1.2m tall and weighs 31.6kg.

Miruhoggu (ミルホッグ) is the Precaution Pokemon and a Normal-type. It is the evolution of Minezumi (ミネズミ), a Pokemon that was revealed the day the Zoroark movie aired. Miruhoggu has Illuminate or Keen Eye as its two abilities. According to CoroCoro, "It lights up the pattern on its body to threaten its opponents." It stands 1.1m tall and weighs 27.0kg.

Shikijika (シキジカ) is the Season Pokemon, a dual Normal / Grass type. Its two abilities are Chlorophyll or Herbivore, the latter of which raises its attack when it is hit by Grass-type attacks. As has been repeated several times, Shikijika changes in appearance depending on the season: in the spring it is pink (like the official Ken Sugimori artwork), in the summer it is green, in the fall it is orange, and in the winter it is brown. It stands 0.6m tall and weighs 19.5kg.

There will be a new in-game season each month of the real year, meaning three seasons a year. As seen on the bottom of the scan, the color of Isshu's terrain changes depending on the season.
Wild Pokemon will vary by season and area.

The very bottom of the left page shows that different areas of the map will be accessible during different seasons. It shows that during the winter, enough snow will pile up to allow you to go on top of a cliff.

Pages 8 and 9

A new mini-game called PokeShifter will allow you to transfer Pokemon from fourth generation games to Black and White using two DS's. In a Pal Park-like manner, you select six Pokemon to transfer over on the DS with your fourth generation game and then encounter them in a grassy field in Black and White on the second DS. You use a sling shot to shoot Poke Balls at your Pokemon as they jump out of grass and back in, and when you hit them, you re-capture them.
The PokeShifter is only available after you defeat the Elite Four, confirming their presence in the game.
Dual wild Pokemon battles occur in dark green grass.
You and your friends Belle and Cheren leave from your hometown of Kanokota Town and meet Team Plasma in Karakusa Town. There, one of the leaders is giving a speech to the local Trainers in which he says, "As humans, what is it that we should do?" In an earlier news story here, he had another line in which he said, "What we're discussing is liberating Pokemon."

Pages 10 and 11

TMs will no longer expire after one use - you can use them as many times as you want, like HMs!
The journey will once again revolve around collecting eight badges.
Dento is the first Isshu Gym Leader - you fight him in Sanyo City.
Aloe is the second Gym Leader, a black woman you fight in Shippou City. It is a very traditional city and has a museum, which is apparently part of the Gym. Its train rail lines are 100 years old.
In both Gyms, you have to answer quiz questions to battle Dento and Aloe. For Dento's Gym, one of them asks about type compatibility, and in Aloe's Gym, one of them asks "What's is something that you eat, is warmed in a pan, and is delicious?" Aloe's quiz is apparently more general and not really Pokemon-related.
The badge at the top of the left page is Dento's.
Shippou City could be named after a religious Buddhist term for the "Seven Precious Treasures," being Gold, Silver, Pearls, Agate, Crystal, Coral, and Lapis Lazuli. Some of these have been game namesakes to boot. It can also be named after "Cloisonne," which is enamel work ("enamelware in which colored areas are separated by thin metal strips"). So the city may deal in religion or art (or perhaps uses the metal from that religious term for the enamel work). Considering Aloe is wearing a big apron, she might be a cloisonne ware maker. But none of this is confirmed yet of course! Speaking of which, an "aloe" is an African flower.

Pages 12 and 13


Rotation Battle - Another three-on-three battle mode. You can only choose one of your Pokemon out of the three out to attack each turn. You have to predict which Pokemon your opponent will use and what attack they'll use for the greatest success. This type of three-on-three battle is in addition to the regular three-on-three battle mode and the one revealed last month where you can constantly rotate the position of your Pokemon.
Miracle Shooter - Allows you to use items in wireless battles; you collect points each turn and can use them for the chance to use items. You can choose whether to use Miracle Shooter or not.
Battle Subway - A subway where you can participate in seven battles at a time. If you win all seven battles you can earn battle points and exchange them for various gifts. There are three battle modes: single, double and multi battles. In multi battles you can team up with a friend wirelessly or with an in-game character. In all of the battle modes, each Pokemon you face is Level 50. There is one Trainer per train carriage.

Pages 14 and 15

The Pokemon Musical contests will take place in the Musical Hall.
The Goods Case stores costumes and other accessories for the Pokemon Musicals.
You can receive gifts from fans in the audience after the show ends.
Deru Power is a new term for the abilities you can win by partaking in High Link missions. For instance, some abilities allows you to double the amount of EXP. Points your Pokemon gain or halve the cost of items in PokeMarts. With the EXP. Points ability, anyone nearby using C-Gear will get the effect too, meaning some abilities can be shared with nearby players! You can trade these abilities with other players as well.
You obtain the Deru Power from the Entrance Tree (ハイルツリー) in the High Link area.

Pages 16 and 17

A Vaporeon you meet in the Dream World has Hydration as its ability, meaning Pokemon can now have non-standard abilities! The other Eeveelutions you can obtain in the Dream World will also have different abilities than usual.
CoroCoro states that many Pokemon you meet in dreams will have different abilities than usual.
You can trade the berries and items you get in the High Link with other players. You leave items on the shelves to trade, as seen in the Pokabu artwork.
There are no Berries in the Isshu region. They only appear in the Dream World.
Through the Global Link you can download new covers for the C-Gear and PokeDex as well as new songs for the Pokemon Musical contests.

We can see that this game is really pushing the Nintendo DS to its limits, with a lot of emphasis on 3D. The game is looking excellent so far. We'll have more news on April 15 so stay tuned. :D

The official titles of the upcoming 5th gen Pokemon RPG has been confirmed to be Pokemon Black and Pokemon White! Below is the logo for Pokemon White:

Desgined by Satoshi Tajiri, this game will be available for the Nintendo DS (NOT the 3DS, much to the relief of millions of people) in Japan later in 2010. It will feature more than 100 new Pokemon who will make up the fifth generation. Serebii has a list of all the revealed 5th gen Pokemon so far here.

The first of the new batch has been revealed! I present to you Zorua, and its evolved form, Zoroark. They are both pure Dark pokemon.

According to the official Pokemon website in Japan, an "entirely new" Pokemon series had been in the works, and is going to land in Japan in 2010.

What makes this actually exciting compared to all the rubbish spin-offs? According to Nintendo and Game Freak, this "new series" is going to feature "new generation Pokémon". Now, we should know that the only time new Pokemon have been introduced is with the original style RPGs that we ever so love.

Designed for the Nintendo DS, this game is going "feature many new features and play functions".

For reference, games that introduced new generations of Pokemon are:
1st Gen: Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow (GB)
2nd Gen: Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal (GBC)
3rd Gen: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (GBA)
4th Gen: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (NDS)

Personally, I honestly didn't expect to see the next generation until Nintendo's next handheld (as shown clearly in the trend of the first four generations). The announcement was sorta vague and I hope this doesn't turn out to be another spin-off like Mystery Dungeon, but they did mention "the next generation Pokemon", and so far they have never introduced a new generation with a spin-off game.

As a competitive player, I can't contain my excitement about the 5th generation. I'm extremely eager to see the changes that will be made to the metagame with the introduction of so many new Pokemon, and the vast amount of new strategies that will follow. The 4th gen was excellent and really fixed up the metagame with the introduction of many new intriguing moves and Pokemon type combinations. Here's hoping that this game is actually going to be the next gen, and it will make Pokemon even more enjoyable than it is now! :D
