The story of Heroman will center on a boy named Joey who discovers a toy robot near the west coast of the United States. The toy becomes Heroman, a giant robot that Joey pilots against evil threats.

I read the manga, and it was a fairly good series, although it felt a lot like a Power Rangers/Kamen Rider thing. The characters seemed a bit flat, though that may have been due to the fact that the translations I was looking at were translated by someone who didn't speak English as a first language.

The wordart looks like Needless. There's obvious signs of Stan Lee and a bit of kamen rider/kikaider into it. I think I'll enjoy this.

feels a little to early for the manga to get it's own anime, but w/e, will defenately be watching this!

Argh, no. I'll pass on this one, too kiddy for my tastes.

For once, it's nice to see some American suburbs as opposed to Eden of the East's metropolitan areas. I guess the question now is how things are going to develop. Will it give in to the insanity as with Gurren Lagann? Will it develop its characters further like Gad Guard? Or will it be content in its simplicity and keep those cardboard cutouts that dare to be considered "characters"?

He's the co-creator and co-writer though I don't know how much he really affects things. It seems quite "comicy" but then the idea of a young boy getting some robot buddy is also very Japanese. The main thing is that there's a lot of America flags and Stan Lee asks for a refill in one scene.


I'm going to go with this. It's a kiddy anime in the purest sense. A lot of other anime that seems to be aimed at kids actually appeal to all ages (Dragonball, One Piece, Doraemon...) or is secretly aimed at pervy old guys (Pretty Cure recently had a movie marathon in Japan and only over 18s were allowed to watch it). So yeah, this is your typical stuff genuinely aimed at kids, complete with obvious toy line implications.
