Little late but just got done watching the last episode of Genshiken 2 and i thought it was pretty great and i can't wait for the DVD's because i just know there going to make OVA's just like the 1st Genshiken.

I watched first season a couple of weeks ago. Man, it's cool. These guys are really crazy otakus. It's comedy but it's really touching sometimes. I feel sorry for Saki, especially when she tried to play games. Poor girl.

There's supposed to be. I just finished the series a few minutes ago and I was a little disappointed.

They will for sure to have OVA's cause the manga did have some stuff going on with ogiue and sasa so I'm for sure they will have OVA's..... Hopefully

I heard that the manga ended recently? Is that true? If so though, then at least there will be a proper ending to the anime, unlike the rest of the manga-to-anime adaptations where they just made up an ending.
Can't wait for the Genshiken OVAs and hopefully season 3.

The manga is over but the show didn't end the same way. It stopped a little short.

I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 and the OVA's, but season 2 left me a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but what I enjoyed about the 1st season was the group dynamics of the club and a fresh perspective on life from the eyes of otakus. I could identify with that to an extent.
The 2nd season focused a bit too much on the comiket thing which, while funny, got kind of drawn out. And the job-searching thing near the end made me kind of depressed. which wasn't really what I was looking for in this type of show.
Does the manga get better after the anime cut's off? I've been meaning to get into it, but there's so many other shows that sidetrack me.

just finished genshiken season1 and the ova. now watching season2 and i was shocked to see some homosexual scenes when oguie was daydreaming. jeez that episode is not more me at all. :?

I'd also like to necrobump this since I've just seen the first 4 episodes. Though this said feeling of a specific anime series may be cliched, I love Genshiken. :D
