OK so Ive just downloaded Hack roots because I read the manga and was like what the hell might as well try the anime then.
Just wondering what everyone thought about it and if it was any good or not.

Which .hack manga did you read? If you're talking about Legend of the Twilight, then I don't think you'll like .hack//Roots. Roots' storyline continues in G.U. so the anime isn't much of a stand-alone storyline. People who aren't .hack fans tend to dislike Roots.
My opinion, it's a good anime for what it is, a supplement to the larger storyline that fills in gaps in the story of G.U.. But otherwise, I can't really recommend it to anyone outside the fan community.

ROOTS was decent. It seemed like it was trying to pull off that calm tone that SIGN had, but fell a little short. But being a giant .hack nerd, I did like seeing The World and getting to see what was happening post-Golden Age ending.
