The Gears Series are some of my favorite games, I dont play multiplayer, but the story is worth the buy for me, definitely going to get this

@sneaky, Dude you got to play multiplayer, it's fun...when people don't bridge for host or lagswitch or shield glitch or get out the map or team glitch or standby or host quits or active boomshot, but other than that it's fun :D

Meh, I forced myself to finish Gears of War on Casual, and never played it again. I just don't see it. I mean it is an okay game, but that's just it. It's so OKAY that it's not even worth mentioning.

I know we complain a lot of games being far too bright and vomiting bloom in our face, ala Halo 3, but then you have the polar opposite in Gears where everything is a shade of gray, brown or black. It's so visually unappealing that it actually makes me not want to play it. Yeah, I know that sounds shallow, and it probably is, but what can I say?

I guess it is one of the definitive third-person shooters on the 360, but I'd rather play an RPG like Mass Effect with TPS elements than Gears. *shrugs*

Well, they know how to put good music in their trailers.

I am sorry but I did not like MW2 it has no story, not to mention to chainsaws, and Dom with a beard. That is just so epic he is my favorite character, maybe cause i am mexican, and now there is women too.

You have to play with someone. I know I never would of played this without my bf, but the one time I did try to play it by myself it was a totally different experience. And not for the better.

I'm seeing epic last stand moments. Gonna be fuckin' great.

If the story is anything like Gears 2, then I'll pass. Seriously, Egoraptors ~1 min video was basically a total summary of the game.

Multiplayer I already know will be bad. People ruin multiplayer. Especially with maps that have dodgeball-style weapons that even teammates fight over.

EDIT: On a positive note so I'm not completely flaming this game, their trailers and music choice are always amazing.

I don't know what you're on about. Each Gears of War title has been revolutionary in its own asset. With Gears 1's revolutionary cover system and Gears 2 horde mode.

Both features which many, if not all games use in their games these days.

I'd hardly call the system revolutionary. Rainbow Six Vegas had a much more comprehensive (not to mention less buggy) cover system and came out just 13 days after Gears. There was also the game Kill.Switch for the PS2 that focused on cover.

I've never played Kill.Switch, but like I said: Vegas's left trigger cover system beat the hell out of the one-touch for Gears. (Seriously, you allocate enough things to the 'A' button, something's gotta go wrong.)

EDIT: And Gears is the only title of the big 3 shooters (Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears) that includes a cover system. Not many games that matter copied. Horde is a different story, though. Great idea on Epic's part

Oh PLEASE. There was nothing new about horde mode.It wasn't revolutionary, it been done thousands of time before and, in most cases, better.

Kill.Switch, which I played long time ago. Gears copied the cover system, it was the exact same thing. With hardly any improvement. Show's how much advertising can make a game sell. (Mostly for having a cool song)

Yeah, I wouldn't consider Gears revolutionary, just a really good game. The visuals are great, the voice acting is excellent, and overall it's a well-produced game that's satisfying to play.

I'll be getting Gears of War 3, but only for the story and coop. Not a huge fan of multiplayer. I like what they had in mind for it, but everyone still just ends up running and gunning like every other game.

And seriously, announcing a year in advance isn't a big deal. Some games aren't released until a couple years after announcement. Let's hope Epic can hit the date, but I always expect a delay when it comes to video games.
