I have never watched any of the old Macross series (I really should), but I really enjoyed the first two episodes of this. I was a bit hesitant at first but the battle animation is pretty awesome, although I think the character design is lacking.

yeah the mecha had been animated well, i wont say its been designed, cause its still just a variant of the original, but the character animation could be kicked up a little.

I have the entire first series Robotech (Macross do you renember love) on DVD, great, only its the English Dub, and it is the worst, most ear destroying nasty dub ever in the history of Anime, RAWWR Fakku rage!
Oh god I hate how they left the cut to commercial breaks in, hearing the ROBOTECH will be right back every 10 mins is soul destroying.
Other than that I loved the way they stuck two aircraft carriers to the SDF-1, and called them arms.

Just finished the first epi, the mechs or whatever they are called remind me of transformers. The concert effects were cool, the changing clothes and stuff.
I like the way Sheryl's hair looks...
If Niang Niang was a real restaurant I'd want to go there just because of the cute little dance.

The mechs are called "Valkyrie Fighter" the the latest is the VF-25, the VF-25 can now transform to anymode WITH the super-pack, originally they can't. I personally like VF-19 and VF-21 from Macross Plus, and it looks like the "Macross Frontier" will be more human-like than the first generation,

I'm just waiting for Shinsen to get the fuck off their asses and start releasing subs for the show. I'd probably have just abandoned them for watching and just archived their stuff but I'm watching about a dozen shows already.

I'll be watching this I have old macross floating around here somewhere, and the jets looked cool, not as cool as the ones in yukikaze, but they the yukikaze ones didn't transform into mechs ^_^

Frontier definitely refers to Plus in the first episode with their usage of the drones. Although I know they have their new Valkyries, I hope the VF-19 and VF-21 make appearances. Still, the fact that the new Valkyries actually have close range weapons instead of just a little bayonet and punching makes me happy. Based on the preview for the next episode, we'll be seeing the return of Zentradi mechs.

Episode 4. Once you hear the song you will never stop listening to it. Who else following this series got this song stuck in their heads after listening to it? I wrote my entire biology essay just now while listening to little more than this song on a loop (taking a brief break for some Ruby Coast and whatnot).
