[Anime] Rebuild of Evangelion

If you haven't heard yet, it's a tetralogy of animated films that offer an alternate re-telling of the Evangelion anime.

oh wow i read about this a couple of years ago but didn't notice it came out already, one question is it dvd subbed or cinema subbed? +rep for the heads up.

I know someone subbed a CAM release, it had terrible audio, but I'm not sure if the DVD version has come out yet...


EDIT: nvm, DVD sub came out today.

Also any ideas when the Second and third ones might be coming out?

The second one is coming to Japanese theaters sometime this year, no specific dates have been mentioned.

Glad you mentioned this. I heard about it a while back but that was all I had heard since too so I didn't even know what to look for since then. Fortunately it's on animesuki's front page atm.

Whew! Just finished watching it. I have to say that it's quite a bit more satisfying than I thought it would be.

The first movie was the same as the series, but as we saw from the last scene things are about to get different.

I have it all downloaded and ready to watch. Just waiting till I get home to watch it with surround sound on a nice big tv :D

i think i am the only one who can't get into Evangelion.

You have ED? (Evangelion Dysfunction) Sounds like a serious problem. You should go see a professional immediately (I leave it up to you which type of professional though, I suggest a doctor, an otaku, or a hitman.)

still not watch the story before..better download the rebuild one..

Try watching this move, everyone I know who doesn't like Evangelion liked this movie.

I get the feeling the reason why people can like Rebuild is because it simplifies some things.

well im glad for one they released this cause the series was a brain fuck of a job. this is a tad bit more enjoyable.

I actually sorta was disappointed. It was good, don't get me wrong. But it wasn't in the same tone as the Intro Arch of the series, and to get the goodness of the dark conculsion to the series. I think you need the crappy light hearted tone.

Rebuild Eva You cannot Advance.

True, the overall tone has changed and has become more light-hearted, but I didn't expect it to be like the twisted Eva I knew and loved. It feels somewhat like someone's ultimate fanfiction come to animation. Not a bad thing by far, but not as good in terms of depth of characters and pacing. Still, it is a rebuild.

i apologize for thread revival but i do have some very good new censoring evangelion 2.0 you can [not] i have done a bit of research and ive discovered to my delight that the moive is finally coming out on dvd in japan on march 22. and i apologize if that doesn't hold any significance you you but i figure its good news cause its bound to jump the pond pretty soon here, or if you prefer to read subbed like most of you do. you will be able to find all the high-quality copies you want then. the information backing this up can be found at evegeeks.org i get the feeling this is going to make a lot of people happy eh?
