Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru

Well, this smacks of conspiracy. I swear this should have been out this summer but instead, Shaft decided it'd be best to have it by fall, which just so happens to be the same fall when AUBx2 is set to go on air...
Whatever you say, dude. Whatever you say. Just don't scream bloody murder in my ear!
The comedy story centers around Seaside, a slightly odd maid tea shop (kissa) in an otherwise ordinary shopping district of a mundane neighborhood in Tokyo. (Despite the addition of maids, Seaside is a traditional kissa, instead of one of the maid cafés made popular elsewhere.) Hotori Arashiyama works at Seaside and daydreams about being a high school girl detective. She, the other workers, and Seaside's few customers have various slice-of-life adventures.

The animation looks oddly good for SHAFT, although since it's by them I'll probably love it to bits.
But hey two SHAFT shows during the Fall season, then Kizumono for Winter, I'm a happy girl/man.

This show seems interesting to me, and it's SHAFT, so how could I not at least check one episode out?

This show immensely reminds me of Natsu no Arashi (aka. the thing Jin Kobayashi did after School Rumble). It might be because of the same setting, but I can't help but feel they are made in the same spirit. Even the opening and ending songs seem to be done in the same wacky tone.
Also, Hotori is my soul mate. We are so alike in so many ways in real life - especially when I was her age. I don't think that is a good thing though, for either of us.

I've been enjoying this series a lot, Hotori is just hilarious and I love her personality. The relationship between her and her teacher is also hilarious.

I won't blame you as it did cross my mind too, but I really feel bad for this series, now that you mention it, and mainly because NnA! had a more interesting concept.

You don't say...

Surname didn't stand out at first, so nice eye catching that... but not really cause its a pretty common name. Making a little stretch their aren't ya?
But ya, NnA had a way better concept, but some of the episodes landed flat.

Is it just me or does Futaba look like Saber (FSN) with a maid outfit on? BTW, apparently this is her Seiyuu's debut. She did pretty good on the ED for a newbie.

Yes... AT HER AGE I SAID! That was like a whole 4 years AGO! [size=6]four years is a long time ago... right...?[/h]
I am much more mature now.

She did pretty good on the ED for a newbie. To be honest, her character design is pretty generic. For one, she reminds me of Becky from the “Stolen Lupin” special. The jamming and the maid outfit -- all exclusively in the ED -- so I might just as well say the ED is somehow the only thing that's going for her thus far. Have to wonder if she’ll ever don the outfit at some point, later on.
And did you know? The old lady (Uki), who runs the cafe, is voiced by a man.

Get it now? Oh, I’m just messing with you, silly. Of course I know of your good (posting) qualities otherwise, what makes you think that I’d even be replying to you?

Again, I am loving this show, the teacher is hilarious and scenes with him and Hotori just work great, I kind of want to see more of the male classmate (I forgot his name) the one the likes Hotori (and Hotori's friend joined the cafe staff just to be closer to him)

If this show has does anything for me, it has made me interested in Rieka Yazawa. I can't believe she has had only one role up to this point when her voice acting is so good.

I like her voice and am interested in seeing what kind of roles she may have in future project.

This series doesn't get much attention around here does it?
I quite like it actually. Some parts are completely retarded, yes, but some parts are quite funny as well.

I know, show like this is very unique if I may say. It doesn't give you a rofl and only lol at sometimes, but most episodes seems to give you a warm :) inside.
So far the two of my favorites are Hotori's little brother's date and Hotori's night walk with her little brother.
