[Anime] Mahō Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba

A third set of OVAs called Mahō Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba (White Wings) has been announced by Ken Akamatsu himself on his website days after the end of the live-action adaptation's airing. Production will once again be handled by Shaft and the entire anime cast from Negima!? will reprise their roles in this new venture. This set of OVAs will cover chapters 176 to 183 (except 181) and will be shown in three parts:

1. The first OVA will cover chapters 176 and 177 and will be released on August 17, 2008, together with the release of Volume 23 of the manga.
2. The second one will cover chapters 178 to 180 and will have a release date of November 17, 2008, along with the release of Volume 24.
3. The third one will show chapters 182 and 183 and will be out on February 17, 2009 together with Volume 25.

Just like the Negima adaptations by Shaft (i.e. the Spring and Summer OVAs and Negima!?), Akiyuki Shinbo will take the directing helm in this new set of OVAs, together with the very same leading animation crew but will closely follow the original character design and storyline.[1]

Also, manga-only characters Albireo Imma and Kotaro Inugami will have their animated debut in these OVAs.

I do enjoy MHN, so I'll definitely be checking this out.

I also liked the Spring and Summer OVAs and am glad to hear that the same team will make the new one... oh I hated the 1st anime adaptation ( it was made by different studio right? )

But this time the Character design will stick to the originals not from the NEGIMA?! style, So Akamatsu Ken will be very active in this OVA.

...As a big Negima fan, is any of the anime worth watching?

The OVA looks promising, since they look fairly close to the Manga's depictions, and I'd love to see those chapters animated, but I'm pretty iffy about everything before it.

Also, am I the only one who chronically forgets that Negi's hair is red?

YEAAAAA! Their finally breaking out another ova of negima! This time they got all the art styles down and I hope the story to.

Also you guys think they will ever make another Negima series but doing it correct? Or is that just not possible?

I kinda don't bother with the OVAs... after all they don't tell the story and the manga is still way better. (But is released pretty slow.)

But now this set of OVA WILL be about the story from the manga, it skips the "Chao Chapter" and straight to the "London & Magic World Chapter".

Yea, what I meant by there's no story in that there's no continuity between one set of OVAs to another. You're watching segments from one volume and then jumping to another and another volume.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the Negima series, it's just that the track record of the anime versions isn't doing well (Mahou Sensei Negi, Negima!?, now these discontinuous OVAs), not to mention that horrible live-action series they did.

There are 2 different types of Mahou Sensei Negima Anime.
The normal "MSN" and the "Negima!?" Anime o0
i liked the "Negima!?" Anime more than the normal Mahou Sensei Negima anime but i cannot find them anymore -_-

More reasons to purchase the manga, provided one can read and understand Japanese. Megami megazine has also been promoting the OVAs in their last couple of issues.

The First OVA is out! Already downloading the RAW and so far I am quite satisfied. :D

Sometimes, when the full-length anime series isn't well-received by the viewers, OVAs would be a good direction to move in, provided there is a substantial fan base. Another example would be that of To Heart 2.
