Been playing it since day 1 of the EU beta.
Pretty much raped anything that came my way in a King tiger / Tiger / VK4502 Ausf B(p). The game is quite fun in the heaviest tanks though, it might turn into a campfest and usually that results in last 3 minute rush.. Hilarity ensues in those times.

I was wondering should I make a topic about the game but since I pretty much fail in making proper ones, I just ended up waiting.
Good beginners route: Russian heavy and Medium tank tree. Though they're tad bit painful to Tier 4 tanks, the fun begins in T5. Especially with the KV-1 heavy tank, fit that baby with a KV-2 turret and a 152mm howitzer = Blast any T6 or below with one shot to kingdom come and still do great damage to highest tank tiers.

You can find me with "W4lt3r" in the game, send me a message or something and I'll be sure to setup a platoon so playing together is possible. + I'll teach you the basics of the game and some useful things on how to use what tanks.

And the Open Beta ought to start in January, with working EU and US servers. The proper release of the game is planned on 2011 Spring, if my information is more or less correct.

Played it for a while, still has my account and game installed if I'd like to have a go again sometime, cuz it's an awesome game. Haven't had time lately though, and when I do I have been focusing on completing other games (since I have a long list to play through).

At any rate WoT is highly recommended if you just wanna feel badass and wreak havoc. Sometimes it's pretty damn hard though, and when you get one-shotted for the tenth time in a game where everybody has bigger and better tanks than yourself, it gets frustrating.

I think all MMO games are like this, no?

I wouldn't know, I seldom got one-shotted in other MMO's.

I was thinking of trying this game but I'm not fond of joining the game in closed beta phase. I might be playing later but I prefer playing together with people from Fakku.

Closed beta testers get a unique PZ IV/V tank that's practically a Panther with the L/48 75mm cannon from the PZ4. Which you can only obtain if you join the closed beta and play couple battles. That should ensure you get the tank.

Since the PZ IV/V graded as a gift tank, I guess it's a good money maker.

You can get a free key from shatteredcrystal.com (comes with Russian premium tank, Valentine. Pretty decent T3 tank, 45mm all around and armed with the QF 2.pounder, great RoF and okayish penetration that suits on killing T3's and lower or hitting T4's from side)
Just browse to their World of Tanks section and "buy" the key for 0.00$ and it'll be emailed to you.

But I've started on doing low tier battles with my Panzerkampfwagen II, which is the Tier 2 german light tank that heads down the heavy/medium tank line. (If you know how to play, you can easily take out +5 enemies without much issue.. So many new players there so they're yet to learn the ropes of the game)

Maybe setting up a chat channel in the game for other members to join into so setting up platoons / tank companies would be easier.

Thanks for telling me where to get the code. So I decided to give it a try. Took me some to figure out how to play. Though I could at least take out one tank once in a while in my MS-1. I'm going to try and get the T-34. One of my favorite WWII tank.

Isn't there any tutorial in the game? Kinda hard to figure out how system works in the game...

There's no direct tutorial to the game, the F1 helps only with the controls and the very very basics.
