Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ☆Kira☆

Well, new Higurashi series coming out this year. Caught me by surprise; I never knew that series was this old already, and thought they put the series down with 'Rei.'

Hopefully they'll expand more on the background of the series or the overall plot or something like that. The 'Kira'(sparkle) in the title makes me kind of skeptical, though. Hopefully they don't turn it into a kind of fanservice-only episodes for commercial purposes.

A game is it? Is it a VN though?

I look forward to how the plot may be expanded upon, I kinda wish that the plot will take place when they get older. Although its a bit too much to ask maybe lol.

I remember watching all the past seasons of Higurashi quite some time ago. I absolutely loved it. Hope this'll have more episodes than Rei.

Hm, hopefully it'll be interesting. I was really disappointed with the tone and quality of Rei, but I'm not about to give up on them pulling off something more like the original seasons, and hopefully have it reflect the visual novels as best they can.

Rei were really just OVA's.

I actually hope that it'll be better if they make the second season of Umineko.

Yes, keep that thought in your mind for the remainder of the series if you want to enjoy this comedy/parody.

It's obvious from the start this isn't going to be a sequel or a new "story" driven series. Treat this as a funny spin-off from the original, where you can have fun seeing the comedic part that is also part of the original Higurashi.

This won't ruin the series, because it's not related to the main story.

(and here I go, trying to defend another series from fanrage due to the sudden change or being too different from the original)

yes I know the show is not meant to be taken seriously...I'm still a little pissed but I'm going to watch it anyway, mostly for the fan service

Hum this one wasn't really what i expected, guess i should have searched more info about it, i was thinking it would be along the lines of Rei or have some new arc or something since i never played any of the VNs at all since i tend to avoid (old) looking VNs and haven't played Umineko for that reason too, i know im missing good stuff but oh well.

The only thing that i really didn't like about this one was the Seiyu used for some of the chars, i just didn't find them fitting, but thats just my opinion.

so, the truth is they didn't "made this" for the fanservice, they're just "adapting" the fanservice.

Frankly, I don't really mind the lack of stories and fanservice-oriented OVA, since the series ended for me after Kai in any case.

My only complaint was the characters' growth on breasts (...). Rena grew from around B-cup to D-cup over the series.

Lol rena to a D...~xD But yes Iam a fan and looking forward to this~ I also thought the end would be with "rei" but I guess not~

I thought the Soul brother's part was corny though. But I like the allusion to the first arc in the original.

Rei is indeed "the end" of the main story. Kira is a spin-off that doesn't have any relations to the main story.
