Tiger and Bunny

Imagine if Heroes are privatized and are the main TV entertainment. You'll get this anime "Tiger and Bunny".
The series takes place in a fictional city called Sternbild City, where 45 years before, individuals with superpowers called "Next" started appearing and some of them became superheroes. Each of city's most famous superheroes work for a sponsor company and their uniforms also contain advertising, most of them for real-life companies. Their heroic activity is broadcasted on a popular television show called Hero TV, where they accumulate points by each feat accomplished and the best ranked hero of the season earns the title of "King of Heroes". The story mainly focuses on veteran hero Kotetsu T. Kaburagi aka Wild Tiger who is assigned with a new partner, a young man named Barnaby Brooks Jr. While Kotetsu prefers to work alone, Barnaby shows him a different perspective on being a hero.

I like the idea of the superhero in this world where sponsorship control them. I wonder if Pizza Hut will be branding a superhero since this is Sunrise.

My first impression while watching the first minutes of Ep 1 is 'OMG they'r making a bunch of ironmans!". Still the plot has somewhat peaked my interest

Hah, I was eating a bag of Calbee shrimp crackers while watching this.
Anyway, someone at Sunrise must have seriously been scheming up ways to make money off of this show. Still, it was somewhat better than I expected, even with all the blatant ad-placement. Although I'm oddly reminded of an older Lelouch and Suzaku for some reason...
It appears the setting is in a fake futuristic New York City? They keep on playing that scene of the aerial view of the city, and it resembles Manhattan quite a bit. Also the bikes the Heros were driving near the end look like Tron lightcycle clones

If you want a "more blatant" Hero, Take Origami Cyclone for example, the Ninja-esque Hero. He's been ordered to just "Show up in the Backgrounds", being a hero is not his main priority.
Here's the Brightside of this Blatant ad-placement, Sunrise will have enough budget to keep the high-quality of the animation.. lol
