A trailer for Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (Evangelion Shin Gekijō-ban Q), the third film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, played on the wall of Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 theater at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The "EVA-EXTRA 08" video first played a digest video of the first two films, and ended after the third film's trailer with the third film's release date: November 17. Advance tickets with bonus items will go on sale on July 14.

The "Q" or "Kyū" in the third film's title is a wordplay in Japanese; the first three films' subtitles are the names for the three classical movements (Jo-Ha-Kyū or Introduction-Exposition-Climax) of traditional Japanese music such as gagaku and Noh.

That is basically all we know about the movie so far. It will be fallowing the Rebuild of Evangelion thing Anno and Gainax have been doing, with the success of 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, and 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, they are probably putting a lot of time into this one. But really all we know so far is what was in that video, which was at the end of 2.22, and that it will be called Q:Quickening. So what are you're thoughts, what do you think will happen in this new installment, and does anyone know anything else about this movie. Also WHY THE FUCK IS ASUKA A PIRATE.

So many questions, not enough answers.

I'm happy with the fact they're rebuilding the series, and I hope the conclusion will meet everybody's expectations....
I'm also glad they seem to be putting great effort into this one..You are (Not) Alone felt very similar to the anime (considering this is a rebuild).

The ending in the anime was good, though a little cliche (You can do it Shinji! WOOT!)

Yeah at first with 1.11, it felt like I was just watching the anime all over again except with better visuals and voice work, BUT THEN, they said that Adam was Which made me go WTF, and actually drew me in even more. The main appeal, at least for me, is seeing what they are changing from the anime. Speaking of which, I will have to dissagree with you on the anime ending, I personally thought it was crap and didn't give any real conclusion(thank god for End of Evangelion, even if it made about as much sense). And there is nothing wrong with Asuka having an eye patch it just made me do a double take at first.

I use the term "Good" very loosely, meaning it's an acceptable conclusion(even that's pushing it).
Quite frankly, it's a very well-done rebuild. The main point of it (IMO) is to bring back old fans and hopefully allow the franchise to explode into existence again.
I can't wait for them all to come out in one Blu-ray set, which I plan on buying, of course.

Yeah, the Adam part, like the entire anime, is full of "WTF"...

I guess we'll have to wait and see what Asuka did to get the eye patch.

Btw: isn't the an official N.G.E. website for all of this? Google doesn't know what it's searching for, apparently.

Since its always making the post, we can assume from what happened in "the End of Evangelion" could apply.

I love how this Rebuild is taking my favorite anime, and making it that much more:
1. Easier to grasp the big things. Ex. The Artificial Sea showing the REAL scale of 2nd Impact.
2. Compacted to avoid Unnecessary content and making the whole story flow better.
ex. Asuka being the test piloit in stead of Touji, saved an entire episode of "who's the next Child?" while also sending her to the hospital instead of having her entire mind litterally "blown"

I have nothing but the biggest hope that 3.33 Q will be the Best Sci-fi Anime Movie involving mechs with the best twist on the story =, as ow fans would have imagined it (Like the REAL Shinji x Rei that's now taking place)

i want to get this one too, i got the other two. :) i'm glad he saved rei from being a soulless world destroyer this time.

Yeah, it seems like they not only updated the story and visuals but the characters as well. Rei isn't a total robot, Asuka isn't a total bitch, and Shinji isn't a total pussy.
