Mysterious Girlfriend X / Nazo no Kanojo X

You too would fall in love with Urabe because Mysterious Girlfriend X, adoption of the manga series, feature the strange relationship of Tsubaki and Urabe.
Synopsis from TV tropes: Due to their special connection, Urabe and Tsubaki have the ability to share their emotions and physical conditions through saliva. Which Tsubaki is addicted to, and must taste everyday to avoid going into withdrawal. And that's just the start of the weirdness.

Is this the one with the guy who likes to eat that girl's spit and the girl carries around scissors all the time? This seems really fucked up, totally gonna watch it.

Awesome... but I don't think I'll watch it... This is the kind of story I prefer to read in manga than in anime

I might give it a whirl. Its jut that I like the mangaka's style of art and everything.

I was wondering when someone was going to make a thread for this. Haven't watched yet, not subbed, but this is the one of the series I've been anticipating this season. PV looks good. The voice actress for Urabe doesn't fit the voice in my head for her. I've always given her a darker voice.
EDIT: First episode was really accurate to the manga which I'm quite glad for. It looks like the whole season will be that way. Drool never looked so good. Next episode: panty scissors!

Watched the first episode already. I must say it's following the manga well, although, Urabe's seiyuu's is trying very hard to match the style of her voice, she's not doing a bad job. I say she just needs to add a little more monotone to it and she's got it. The drool slushing sound effects sounded hot in my opinion.
Also, points to anyone who spotted the Big O and Dorthy figures, along with two posters that reference "Star Wars" and "The Day the Earth Stood Still" in Tsubaki's room. I await the next episode.

Despite that I wonder why they let a complete newbie for the main role...

I dare you to say that to tsu. Also, they got to start somewhere in the business, Kai. The other seiyuu's won't be around forever.

I never said, she was bad.. lol XP (newb =/= bad)
But the decision is that confuses me. All the famous seiyuu starts from background characters -> minor characters -> and eventually main characters.
And the comment about seiyuu's won't be around forever, mostly will be around until they passed away. And ironically even after they passed away they will still be voice acting although limited...lol (ex:Hirotaka Suzuoki the voice actor of Bright Noa from Gundam)
EDIT
Did a deeper research through JPN Wikipedia about Yoshitani, Ayako.
Eventhough the fact is true that this is her First Anime gig. But she's been doing some acting for Dorama and Movies.
That probably explains why you felt there was something missing, because she was suppose to act as a Voice actor with her dorama and movie acting skills.
She's basically like Kamiki, Ryunosuke who is an actor that only do anime movie voice acting jobs.

So that was ummmmm, interesting to say the least. This really isn't your average anime, even the animation and character designs are out of the ordinary, the show's unique I'll give it that.

After episode one, I have been inspired to read the manga. Too bad this doesn't happen in real life with every hot girl I meet. XD

I stopped reading the manga some time ago for unknown reasons... watching episode 1 makes me want to pick it up again. Also, that saliva sharing thing is so hot.

Just watched the first episode. I love the visuals. I love the music. I love the storytelling. The only thing I find issue with is I think they may have chosen the wrong voice actor for Urabe. As an avid reader of the manga, I feel the one they chose captures her tone and expressions fairly well, but I just don't feel that it sounds right.... Anyone else feel the same?

They seem to be off to a good start with this in terms of keeping with the manga, and it's also very visually appealing as well.
I wonder why they made the drool so noisy, though. It sounds like....love juices or something.
Yeah, when I read it I pictured a more subtle and high pitched voice for it, like komori from zetsubo sensei or whatever.
But the voice they picked doesn't seem too bad; at least, it works pretty well if you forget any prior impressions you had of what urabe's voice should be.
