3DS XL

You knew it was going to come to this.

I'm a die-hard Nintendo fan but I don't see the point in XL handheld systems. I most certainly will not be buying it, but what about you guys?

as long as the price isn't prohibitive, as in double that of the normal DS and just 10 or 20 bucks more, I'd say its fine.

Unless they fixed that shitty 3d screen then it's a waste of purposely good Johnny blue money.

Getting back on topic, if a Nintendo 3DS XL is released, I might hold back on buying a Japanese set till then. However, I also read that there is no adapter included for the XL sets. :( Not sure if this new version is worth my time and money.

it is the same as the 3ds after an 30 min play you get an headace when you use the 3d option and it is also 1 interval angle

I knew this was going to happen, I used to own a DSXL and it was pretty nice, kinda heavy but the screen made up for it, although I have trouble looking at my 3ds screen already for extended periods and I usually just keep 3D turned off.

NOA president confirmed that the North America ones will include the AC adapter. No word for the other regions yet.

I might get this. Sure the main focus here is that its bigger screens for an extra $50 bucks [this is set at 199USD at release in august]. But how I see it is that this version improves on two cons that I had with the first system: The 3DSXL has a matte finish and the start, home, select buttons are actually buttons this time.
Gloss is annoying as all hell [they call it 'car's only' for a reason] and the design of the S,H,S bar bothered me a bit.

Now that I thought it over a bit more I think I will get one. As long as I can transfer all of the data from my 3DS and I don't have to pay more than $50 on trade in to get it.

As nice as it sounds, I'll pass on it unless it's given a better battery life than the 3DS. A bigger screen won't compensate for the disappointing battery life of the 3DS.

3.5 to 6.5 hours when playing 3DS games (3DS is 3 to 5).
6 to 10 hours for DS games (3DS is 5 to 8)."

A bigger screen won't compensate for the disappointing battery life of the 3DS.The battery has been improved, but not by much. According to this source, it will last 3:30-6:30 hours. The one on the 3DS lasted 3-5 hours. Still, considering the fact that the screen is bigger(which most likely needs more power), it's a good thing that it last longer at least.

Weren't they gonna start selling for a profit? This says otherwise bigger system --> bigger part --> more money for each part --> higher price to break even or sell at a profit. I don't think the 30 extra dollars is gonna enough money to break even or make Money off it. I personally think it won't sell well and I also think it's not worth it, for me atleast. Unless they had two circle pads which is missing a big opportunity to make a lot of money.

I think Iwata said that 3DS is going to turn profit in August.
I'm going to buy the XL, but that thing won't fit into my pocket. Also, I don't like the increased pixelation bigger screens without improved resolution will bring.
