If it entertains me I am good. Though I thought it would follow the manga. Oh well, I will go just read it then.

And here I thought they might pull an FMA:Brotherhood on HNG.... So this will be independent from the Manga AND the previous anime? Let's just see how they execute this, I'm keeping my mouth shut till I watch it XD

Well initially I was really mad about this, then I thought about it. Still sort of mad but its not as bad, at least it's not some random person writing it. I hope they at least animate the manga as a series of movies or something.

It would be interesting if they had 2 anime series going on. One as this original story and another as a continuation. Might not be a terrible idea.

Yeah, I kind of have mixed feelings about it, I guess I probably would prefer it to follow the manga, at least somewhat, but then again, a completely new story-line could be very interesting; that, and the fact that I was anticipating from the beginning for it to be different. Bottom line though, as long as Athena's in it, I'm down like a clown with a frown, Charlie Brown.

Original anime story, huh? Boo, I'd rather want a J.C. Staff 3rd season continuing the actual story (Athena) :-(
But well, better something than nothing.

Let's take a look at this episode:
- imho animation and art is ok (though, of course J.C.Staff was a lot better here)
- humor and SD-scenes are quite good, I liked them ;-) Plus, new character is cute^^
- Lack of most of the other characters in 1st ep is no good, hope it'll be different in next eps
- Singing girl (?) was kinda strange and unnecessary, imho
- The action scene was too slow paced, imho
All in all a lot better than I feared, though it's not what I'm waiting for (a REAL 3rd season).
I'll take it an a extra story, and for that it definitely seems to be good so far ;-)

Why can't they just make a 3rd god damn season? And why do their faces look weird? I hope I'm not the only one who sees this, otherwise I think I need a stronger prescription.

Day 7: Still no sign of Hinagiku... I wonder how many days will I last if she doesn't show up next week

Though at the end of episode 2... or something along those lines anyway. Not sure if this needed a spoiler box but just playing safe.

So far I've enjoyed what I've seen and I'm glad Hata Kenjiro is working on this. I look forward to seeing more and how things will roll out with the current developments on the new character and story.

Its sad every time the quality has really gone down, like the bad balance of head-face ratio becomes REALLY noticeable. character quality is reversely proportional to BG quality? Just dont leave Hina behind the story in this filler(or non-canon is more appropriate?) arc

I haven't read the manga so IDK. Used to be a big fan of the series before, but don't like where the series is heading after they pass it over another studio. Character design's not fateful to the original and animation sucks. But I'm still watching the series just because I was a fan of the series.

As a fan of the series, it was very depressing to watch episode 4. It was so bad I am considering dropping the show. Yes having nothing occur is one of the staples of Hayate, but at least the manga is funny. The references they did in the show were terrible and the only good episode which is 3 was just average.

I already dropped this due to bad body proportion and the lack of the usual Hayate comedy.

AND THAT'S NOT HINAGIKU, not even Shizuka Itou will make me watch this.

Same here, I prefer the 1st season and moive animation = manga design

But darn I missed their gundam jokes and other anime parodies
