[Anime] Love Live! School Idol Project (Season 2?)
0
There are plenty of idols and celebrities in Japan, but the trend is moving on to the anime universe as well. After Idolmaster and AKB48, yet another idol-themed anime series will be hitting one's television (or computer) screens, entitled "Love Live! School Idol Project".
To save their high school from being closed down due to declining student enrollment, 9 girls come together to form an idol group, to serve as a marketing and advertising campaign. Will these girls succeed after overcoming the obstacles ahead? Will their beloved high school be saved?
After doing some research on the internet, I was surprised to discover that there was actually a voting system to determine the position of the various characters in the music videos produced by Sunrise. Presently, quite a number of singles and music videos have been released, although I am unsure about the extent of their popularity.
Perhaps the upcoming (tonight actually) anime series will enhance their popularity further.

Edit: All credits must go to BagMan for bringing us news that there will be a second season.

After watching the first episode, I became fairly sure that this series' popularity is going to skyrocket. It was a great experience.

Honestly the minute they cheered up and were 100% prepared, I just knew that the outcome would be what it was.
I don't know why it is exactly that I love this series, but I just do!
At this point, my favorite girl has to be Kotori.

If this episode was any indication, it seems that they'll be having full songs- rather than just short snippets.
(Song begins at 2:30)
Animation quality not quite up there with Idolmaster, having to resort to 3-D, but it's still very good. A bit more of a coherent, overarching storyline going on here, too; less episodic.
Still too early to tell, but I do believe that Love Live is gonna be something to be looking forward to weekly- and may well give the Idolmaster anime a run for its money.
And does anyone know if A-Rise is an actual idol group?

I've seen videos of Love Live! roaming around YouTube a while back last year, and was wondering when they were going to make an anime for it. I'd have to check it out and see it for myself.

This show was surprisingly good and has some nice emotional layers to it. I always though it was some iDOLM@STER knockoff but it so far coming into it own. Also Umi super cute :D

Just finished the first episode. I find it decent so far. Has a decent starting plot and the characters seem real likeable. Since 2011, I was waiting on this to become an anime, and as of right now, it's doing quite a good job of getting me interested in it.
Maki, the pianist, was one of the characters I took a liking during the MV projects before this anime, and it seems that I will really like her too in this anime.

It's official, I love this anime... and Nico. I got hit by the Moe Train and my corpse was dragged to the next stop.

Finished up to the 5th episode.
Now I know that I really, REALLY like Maki as a character. Episode 5 also made me laugh so hard because of Nico.

Love Live has been around since 2010, as I have only recently discovered.
Oh, my heart.
I still prefer Idolmaster, but who knows if Love Live won't catch up. It's off to a damned good start.

This thread needs a good bump.
I've seen up to Ep. 11 so far, and things are getting pretty dramatic, but very enjoyable.

i hate how they try to blend cg into regular animation or that 3d feel, but i can let it slide since it's all really enjoyable and i'm pretty sure all other idol shows are guilty of doing the same thing.
anyway, latest episode, 12, is quite the shocker
my favorite is either nozomi, eri, or honoka - basically, mainstream.

I finally finished the last episode, and I've got to say that it ended fine, but kinda wanted me yearning for more. This is due to the fact that Love Live has plenty over other songs besides the ones that were in the anime that weren't shown and I was looking forward in seeing more from them.
Other than that, this was a decent series, fleshing out what once was just only MVs for characters, into an actual anime that brought out each individual for a whole School Idol Project.

I don't feel this warrants a new thread considering this anime is only a season old but according to Anime News Network and the Love Live! School Idol Festival game that I'm a little addicted to at the moment (I think, I can't read japanese) there will be a new season of Love Live! next year.
