Spoiler:
If someone thinks that achieving goals, having fun, or getting things is a good way to live, that one is wrong. If something is useless, everything that involves it, is useless, that way is life, if life is meaningless, everything it involves is meaningless too, even death (back to suicide, it has no sence).

Arbitrarily deciding what make sense or what has value on your own personal scale, hmmmph! People live and find out what's worth living for them. To say, "but that's just so&so's sense of view" and brushing it off as wrong or unimportant is very egocentric. To say it doesn't matter because it "ends" is egocentric too. A story book has an ending, but the ending alone doesn't describe the value of the book as a whole.

I hate the whole Existential nihilism bullshit because it's basically all subjective reasoning(a fancy way of saying opinion). What it is trying to do is say my opinion is better than your's. In Fakku terms:
Person1: (Eroge company of your choice)'s visual novels are all worthless garbage.
Person2: *Fapfapfapfapfap*

Yeah, me dismissing the idea of "everything being useless" is subjective, but at least I know it is.

Well dude, you may right that life is to die, no , you're right. what the hell is life anyway? why i must life anyway?
first thing when i was born i was being a weight to my parents, to pay this and that for me. is life mean to be a hurdle for others?
sometimes my parents and others wanted me to do as what they want, isn't that ridiculous? are living is to be a person that another person wanted?
But at the same time, i have my own consciousness, i have experience many things myself in this world, joy, sorrow, sadness and many more things.
but what is the real reason that makes it worth living in this world? maybe because we are living just once, we born as a son/daughter just once, we have dreams, even without motivation, even sometimes tought that, "i cannot do this/that", we sleep everyday with time moving forward, we think with our body and soul grow older, we smile with our beloved person gradually moving away, passed away, we walks as if there is no turning back, all of this with time moving forward and we too, will gradually die. to nothingness. some people said that we will move to heaven, and will be happy forever. but is that moving to heaven a good thing? we only have happiness, but in the world we can feel sadness, sorrow, hurt, isn't that great to be alive? even if we have nobody to love us, even if we have nothing that can be deserve 'appropriate', at least we living this one live with knowing love and hatred, than nothing(die)or just happiness(heaven) or just torture (hell). if you cannot believe that life have a meaning, it's okay, just remember the past that cannot be replayed, that everything in this world are just 'once'. so at least life it with all you got, or you will never experience this "once in a lifetime to life in this world".

A few people have a moment in their life of crystal clarity, when they realize

this is why I am.

It sounds to me like you're searching for that moment. I hope you find it.

If you consider what's around you that you should be thankful for and the fact there is so many things in this world you haven't seen or have yet to learn then yes. It's worth living if you change the perspective and give it a chance. Instead of being selfish.

It doesn't have a reason
You don't need a reason to do something
You could even say life is Unreasonable
Relive you childhood dreams (if you had one)
or Just play till the day you die

In my personal experience, there is no one reason to live life. We are alive due to other people and will eventually return to death, so that new life feeds from our essense. It's a never ending cycle that no living being can escape from.

However, when you look at the wonder that being alive really is, you find that simply living is the only real reason to be alive. We feel the pain of a lego on your sole, the burst wind from a truck going 80MPH, the overflowing deliciousness of a sloppy joe with extra cheese (dayum!) or the searing heat and satisfaction of orgasm; do you really need any deeper meaning than this?

I live my life with a single purpose: to live. I care nothing for being remembered, nothing for leaving a mark. I will be forgotten, only the ground where once I stood as testament to my existance. In a universe of unlimited and unimaginable possibilites, fate and Gaia chose you to exist. You could have been an ant or a sloth (I chose sloth but the guy in front got it first lol). You can live in a world teeming with your imagination, spend your entire life getting to know just the people in your immediate area, make love to a thousand individuals or read books until your eyes bleed.

And in the end, you will go to sleep forever, awaiting whatever comes next. If this single time is the ONLY time you will ever exist and be conscious that you truly occupy space in the Star Ocean...

Will you really spend your time asking why you need a reason to live?

Cheers.

I feel as though you're supposed to discover your own reason to live. Everyone in the world is unique, with different goals, hopes and dreams, so I'm sure if you asked them their reason for living you would get a different answer. That's one of the joys of life, there is no true path, allowing us to create our own happiness and reason for living.

To tell you the truth, what is keeping me alive and sane is story's. movies, books, games, shows. I really like story's.

That's true life has no purpose to die born live a shit life most likely and then die and the only people who actually believe in life is people who are very strongly religious if you look at terrorists that are suicide bombers they die and there is no repercussion to it birth is expensive but so is death but there is nothing to live for if you support something and are not alive to see it.

(Sorry For Run On Sentances :) )

Na it's okay. I agree with you about life being shit etc.

The reason that should make it worth living is what you experience along the way. Friends, family, hobbies. If all you're going to do is view that stuff negatively it's no wonder you're posing that question in the first place. Look at it realistically, it's not all bad. It's the things like that which keep you going. There's no point to life rather than to simply live it. Humans are the most intelligent creatures on Earth and have opportunities to do so much. Just make the most of the one life you're lucky enough to have received. When your parents had sex you were the one lucky sperm that made it out of all the others. Don't waste it being depressed and thinking life is pointless. But you honestly sound like you're purposely trying to be difficult. 'Ugh life is pointless. Bah, suicide would also be pointless'. Make a choice. You either want to live your life or you don't. If you can't be bothered to make anything of it and, from what it sounds like you're saying, are wasting space why bother being here? If it doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks, then in merely making this thread you've contradicted yourself!

Was discovering this thread and surprised. I don't know Fakku has its philosophical side, hahaha.

Well, I don't think if life has any real reason that makes it worth living. But I'm not saying that life has no real reason at all, or that it is worthless. I'm saying there must be a reason to live, but to find this 'reason' an individual should seek it by his or her own self. What I want to say is that there is no absolute, objective meaning of life which applies to all mankind. This question (Does life has any real reason that makes it worth living?), however, would have many answers and certainly subjective.

For me, the real reason the life has (or should I say, 'the real reason why I live', since I believe there are no absolute and objective meaning of life, therefore I will use 'I' not 'individual') is to find true existence of myself. Who am I? What and how am I supposed to be?
The journey to find the existence of myself could make life become worth living, I think. At least for now.

But if the reason for a life is to die, then why should we live anyway? Isn't the reason for a life has become meaningless?

Life has no reason, nor do people and that's what's so great about it. If life had a reason then there'd some shit that we'd HAVE to do but life is free. You can give yourself a reason but there isn't anything set in stone. To me, it makes everyone equal. It doesn't matter if you're super intelligent or athletic because in the end, there's really no reason to any of it besides making yourself happy with your own accomplishments. You might think it sounds depressing but I love the fact that life has no meaning because that just means that I can do whatever I want for myself and not for some greater purpose that wouldn't benefit me or the ones I love as much. Is life worth living? Well I heard that the average person has a lot more pain and sadness in their life as pleasure and happiness so I guess not but we can't all kill ourselves, we just gotta try hard to get the most out of the longass time we have alive. I'm sorry if my opinions offend any religious people but I'm just speaking my mind, offending was not my intention.

No, It does not.
Life is a thing we humans can not comprehend at all because it is so mysterious. Even after years of saying "X created us for X reason! We should live on!" they have no proof. Why were we birthed? How did we survive the first meteor in the first place? Until those questions are answered, we have no true motive or reason to live. To put it simply, We live out of fear of death.

There is. Subjective experience coupled with social influence. These two generally provide people with some reason to live or at least not to die since thatd take a bit of effort and make them feel bad.

There is no single reason to live everyone will subscribe to. Each person has their own and it often changes with age.

Currently mine is, like someone already posted in this thread, love of stories. I would probably take it a step further and say love of mediums. Music, games, anime, books, eroge. Story isnt really what I love if I think about it. I actually prefer a narrative with interesting characters more than a compelling story. So yeah, it is the immersion in the creative world of another I live for currently.

Yet even that reason makes me a bit uneasy.
I kinda wish I could get away from this mediation of my time because I cant help but feel like it is part of what demotivates me in my own creative, unmediated experience. If I didnt spend so much time on all these things I would be making them myself in a paradoxical way. But then is making them of any real value? Maybe, maybe not. And then I choose the later and I dont feel so bad.
So I guess I just live for contentedness and entertainment without worrying so much about the tribulations of life. Occasionally I bounce back to an existential crisis mood but Im usually comfortably floating through life in sweet fuck all.

Power-Senpai This is very custom.
There is no real reason to be alive as far as I am concerned, but to focus too much on that leads to nothing but depression, so it becomes more what you decide to live for. Like a job, hobby, people in your life, or other reason or ambition you might have to make it worth going through.

I believe purpose of life is to continue our species and be a reasonable human being.

Does life have any real reason that makes it worth living? Not to bash religion, but i think it's quite pathetic that many Christians for example rely on an external force such as God to find meaning in their life. Whether you like it or not, you were born into this world and you should enjoy it with positively reinforced activities.
