I was going to go on a rant here, but that would be too much effort. To put it simply, you are only going to enjoy this anime if you really love GRIMDARK survival stories.

Episode 2
Spoiler:
This show is dark. Though I don't know if it's really fair for Himiko's friends to hate her. I mean, how was she supposed to beat up all of the guys there and save them? Calling the cops was all she really could do. I am glad that they all lived though. I really like this anime so far. It's grim but enjoyable.

Reading the preview I thought "Oh, another MMO base anime, how fun...", but after watching it, it might be the best MMO base anime I've seen.

1 & 2
Spoiler:
Although I applaud their attempt in conveying the moral dilemma there is in killing to survive I'm not a big fan of how they did it. They created unrealistic characters in the mold of evil for the sake of being evil. The strength in bringing that kind of internal struggle is in the fact you have no will to kill the person but must to survive, if the character is outright demonic and killing them would only mean good things there really isn't a moral dilemma, just a whiny kid who is not willing to get his hands dirty.

I like the fact that so far they have made the tone serious. First of all not making it VR but RL makes me more interested. If it's your real body with all the nerves and senses the illusion of danger and urgency is bigger in the spectator. Even if you make so as the person dies IRL when dying in the virtual world, it still is a VW.

The rape scene was kind of predictable but that didn't make it bad. Even though the fat guy had a weird and almost out of nowhere change in character it fit with the reason they set up for them being there, which is all of them were hated/disliked by someone who decided to put them there. So the revelation he was a rapist made sense even if they did not make it a part of his development in the episode.

The fact that the main characters knew each other in game before and are now meeting IRL is fine, but the scene in the OP/ED (can't remember which) where they barely touch hands makes me fearful they make this a moonlight situation, which imo would be terrible.

I agree with what some have said about how stupid the scene in which he doesn't realise how a bomb works, even after being the 10th best team in a BOMB MMO, is, but honestly that was probably the only part of both episodes that made me cringe. The rest was fine and enjoyable.

The intensity in the expressions at times are too much imo, but it fits the overall mood of the anime so it doesn't bother me as much.

Finally I'd like to say the girls were dumb. "Hey let's go to an apartment with a bunch of dudes we've never met by ourselves!" is not a sensible decision. The worst thing is that some people are really that gullible IRL.

This isn't really a "MMO anime", so you probably shouldn't look at it as such. It has about as much to do about MMOs as its fellow genre compatriots, Battle Royale and Future Diary.

Episode 3.
Spoiler:
I like this Taira guy. He seems pretty cool. Shame he'll probably wind up being either a bad guy, or dead before this is over. Just get that vibe off of him. Backstory and such. That guy on the screen reminded me of a fat version of Little Slugger from Paranoia Agent. And a double dose of creepy people, with Sunglasses McBombabitch, and the requisite psycho kid.

This show has an awesome opening song. We gain a little more information on the situation in episode 3 and now I can't wait for 4.

Episode 4.
Spoiler:
Yeah, brilliant move there, Pops. Bully a kid with frigging implosion bombs as his disposal. That guy must have had one hell of a deathwish. Anyway, I like this little psychopath. His bombs are awesome too. But, Sakamoto is awesomer. Dude basically won that fight with a concussion, thinking it was a game. Boss.

Well this anime went downhill fast. The first episode excited me but every single one up until now has been worse than the last.

Spoiler:
It was all too contrived. The way the characters voiced their internal struggles was making me sick. First of all don't treat your audience as idiots, second of all don't tell me what you are trying to do just do it, finally third of all you did a terrible job at it. He hit his head, probably had a concussion, but still could play his best and remember his tactics in BTOOOM. Not to mention the jump from not willing to sacrifice his moral integrity to "Hey whatever it's just a game" to then for no reason at all just realizing he was going to kill an actual person.

This anime keeps adding unrealistic characters that make me feel no attachment to it whatsoever. Suspension of disbelief only goes so far. I understand from the premise alone you are suppose to disregard real world rules and tendencies but evil for the sake of evil is just terrible character archetyping imo. The dad abused the kid for no reason, then just like it were natural the kid becomes a psychopath? Not to mention several kids get beat up by their parents and are poorly treated and the percentage of serial killers is less than .01%. Sure they threw in the dad grabbing the kids dick in the end, but that was it. Just like with the fat rape guy you can't just throw in out of the blue something huge like that with no foundation and expect it to stick just because.

Also with every episode I am more certain that Sakamoto has split personalities. How can someone be so dumb and so smart at the same time. He is one of the best players in the game, yet it takes him until the last possible second for him to realize the most simple of mechanics like the radar only works on people that move.

There's just so much wrong going on here I could literally write a post as long as the episode's script if not longer about it. For instance the assumptions and realizations they make during the fight are just so out of place it just makes zero sense. Just because the guy sets up a trap or dodges a bomb it means he MUST play BTOOOM? WHAT!?!? Can't you just have a brain and think "Huh maybe I don't want to die when he throws a bomb at me." Not to mention he threw a f#%#$¨ bomb in the kids FACE, and he lived?

What is up with the implosion bomb? It makes no sense. It sucks air and explodes? How? Why? Only the owner can use it? But isn't everyone using bombs from other people already? Is it just that one? But why would that one be special? Also if it sucks into people why didn't it suck the kid into the tree and kill him? It sucks everything except him? How?

I should drop this anime for the sake of my sanity, but I'll give it one more episode. If it is still like this next episode I'm gone.

Episode 5.
Spoiler:
Ryouta, dude, when a chick starts flinging bombs at you and yelling "All men are my enemies" the last thing you should think about doing is TAKING HER PANTIES OFF WHEN SHE'S KNOCKED OUT! For God's sake, what kind of brain lapse was he having? Oy. And, as expected, Mama Sakamoto sent him to the island. If I was her, I'd be celebrating getting rid of his punk ass. Not slitting my wrists. And...giant lizards! That's not good. And the next episode title, plus her being there now, is a pretty big death flag for Taira...

if someone gets bite they are as good as dead since komodo dragons mouths are full of nasty bacteria

Episode 6.
Spoiler:
Yay for misleading episode titles! Taira lives to see another episode. I'd argue that the poison from a Komodo Dragon should have done him in, but who cares? It's nice to have a character I can stand. Cause Himiko is getting on my last nerve. Yes, she was attacked by Otaku McRapist, but this whole "I don't trust any man" bitch attitude, and her constant mood swing from bitch to wuss is getting irritating. And...Rambo is back. Not good...

The main character is an exceptional neet, I lyk this anime mainly bcoz of him, he easily adapts to the situation at hand and he isn't naive (kills only when he has to. Jst hope the girl's attitude will change.

Episode 8.
Spoiler:
"I can't open my heart to men...but don't leave me alone...but don't look at me or cross this line."

I swear, this girl needs to pick a personality and stick with it already. Ugh. Anyhow, guess I was wrong about having to die to lose your chip. Makes sense that if you got your limb blown off, the chip would go with it. And also confirmed is that this game has happened before. Can't wait to see more from Ms. Shovealot and Dr. Dickhead.

Started watching this a few days ago, loving it so far, think it might be may favorite of the season.
Episode 8
Spoiler:
Himiko is cute, but is getting kinda annoying with the whole i trust you but im gonna lie to you like crazy thing. The next episode looks like its gonna be awesome, the guy with the long hair and tatoo on his arm looks like a real badass.

Episode 9.
Spoiler:
Himiko. Further proving to be as useless as tits on a snake. How she lasted this long is beyond me. Ryouta on the other hand was pretty badass. Not as badass as Shades there, karate kicking and running through fire and whatnot. Also, not going to think too hard on how Ryouta survived that many point blank bombs...

Spoiler:
