I didn't even think about seeing the other members of debauchery tea party, that indeed would be a cool thing to see. Overall great episode, just really makes you feel like you're in this game.

I've got to give it to this anime. It's really starting to grow on me. At first I thought, oh god, it's just SAO again, but it's really starting to differentiate itself and become it's own narrative.

Personally,I like it.At the beginning I also thought it was 1:1 with SAO,but after the 3rd ep i saw that it isn't true :) So I'm enjoying it pretty much right now.

anyway, here's what I was about to post.
I recommend you put a spoiler warning on that. I don't mind cause I'm following the LN but for the rest who doesn't, they might.

I picked this up because of the DATABASE jokes. It's a pretty good watch.
You'd be forgiven for thinking it's a SOA ripoff but you soon come to realise that it focuses less on romance, action and trying to stay alive while defeating the bad guy, and more of a "what-if" scenario in a virtual world with no laws and the political formation of a government, while still maintaining that they're inside a game that they can't escape from, the motives and solid cause still unknown to us. Not to mention the ability to die without negative repercussions on their physical selves.

This is far closer to .hack than SAO and is also far better than SAO. I would say give this a go, especially if you find some of the friendship power ups in current manga/anime stupid.

You shouldn't really compare this to Sword Art Online. Granted they both take place in a game in which the characters are trapped but many animes have similar settings. So far Log Horizon is much more intellectual that SAO, many episodes are simply dedicated the the reactions of the players with in the main city and how Shiroe (MC) is trying to help them. As an MMORPG player myself I can really relate to Shiroe in comparison to Kirito (who I love) who seems like an overpowered 14 yr old. As of episode 12 of Log Horizon there has only been a few episodes that completely rotate around battles. Log Horizon tends to concentrate on things like the economics and psyche of the players. I would definitely recommend this anime 10/10, its very intellectual and political.
