[Anime] Parasyte - the maxim

The 17-year-old Izumi Shinichi lives with his mother and father in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. One night, worm-like aliens called Parasytes invade Earth, taking over the brains of human hosts by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasyte attempts to crawl into Shinichi's ear while he sleeps, but fails since he is wearing headphones, and enters his body by burrowing into his arm instead, taking over his right hand and is named Migi.

Because Shinichi was able to prevent Migi from traveling further up into his brain, both beings retain their separate intellect and personality. As the duo encounter other Parasytes, they capitalize on their strange situation and gradually form a strong bond, working together to survive. This gives them an edge in battling other Parasytes, who frequently attack the pair upon realization that Shinichi's human brain is still intact. Shinichi feels compelled to fight other Parasytes, who devour humans as food, while enlisting Migi's help.

I remember seeing pictures of the manga and being interested in the concept, though I never actually gave it a go. I should.

By far my most anticipated anime of the Fall season! It did not fail. I remember reading volumes 1 and 2 about 7 years ago and said

* im going to wait till this gets an anime*.

I'm glad i waited. Can't wait for epd 2

Damn I like this a lot. Got a couple of laughs in the second episode and thoroughly enjoyed the MC showing them filthy thugs who's boss.

any of you make a gif if a that funny locker scene in ep 2 ?

I think that the way the hunting organs were drawn was kind of lazy compared to the manga but they way they animated the attacks is gorgeous.

Also main girl's new haircut is ugly, Migi rocks, hardcore anti-humanist sentiments are still flawed, they managed to have dubstep, metal and one decent song in there for the soundtrack, and overall they are doing good so far.

at least this isnt over censored like tokyo ghoul and terra formars

Episode 3



Episode ends with a drum and bass track. I love it!

This anime is absolutely beautiful and I love how they didn't censor it like they did with Terraformars unless you go to Crunchyroll and pay monthly they have the uncensored version.

But definitely is great. =3

only the part of the body they eat get's turned into an alien/thing/ w/e so if they eat the brain/head only the head gets munched but if it just the arm .....


point is they still have a pen an vag they just don't use them or are to stupid to know how too except for the intelligent ones

Oh okay I assumed that by taking the head they infected the whole body in the process.

Every seasonal collection of anime has a coupla new anime that stand out. For the summer collection it was Akame ga kill and Tokyo Ghoul but for this falls collection i'd say parasyte the maxim is definitely one of those rare gems.

I'm willing to bet everyone will think they'll be watching a different anime by the end of this arc. This series is so good.
