the war between "ancient civilization" and the cantus users

If a movie of this series is made that would be a great story for it

Spoiler:
I'm wondering how the psychobuster is going to work. At first I thought it was a nuclear weapon, but after seeing what's become of Tokyo its clear those were all used during the war. Since its a biological weapon based on anthrax theres a huge risk everyone in the vicinity of release will be infected. The location should be interesting since for it to last 1000 years it must be kept somewhere well protected from nature.

Spoiler:
Um, Saki-san? Why couldnt you just use Cantus to hover a bit over the guano?

Writing Yourself Into a Corner: The Animation, Episode 22:
Spoiler:
So apparently, Saki's mom had this little Archive here. And it only needs 6 hours of sunlight to power up. And it can also map areas and knows exactly where the Psychobuster is. Convenient.

A submarine? Convenient.

Kiroumaru has been to Tokyo before and knows a lot of what is in the area. Convenient, but useless since the group has the Archive.

The Psychobuster is a psychic-targeting biological weapon (Anthrax, really?) that sounds extremely perfect in every respect. And it was made by the Americans... and is somehow in Tokyo. Convenient.

Squealer and the fiend follow Saki instead of finishing up the remaining humans? What?

Also, "We gotta hurry to the Psychobuster- EW EW BUGS AND SLUGS GROSS! I'M NOT GOING OVER THERE!"

Hey man, bugs are a serious issue. I would've shit my pants and turned directly around.

Episode 22

Spoiler:
It feels kind of cliched when they mentioned that the Americans are the one who made this perfect bioweapon that can wipe out thousands of people.

Buff_Daddy_Dizzle The True Buff Bizzle
Spoiler:
I was hoping more for a weapon that simply rendered cantus useless, like some sort of high techy elecrtomagnetic field generator or some whatever doohicky that might actually give a slight more insight as to the actual nature of cantus in itself....but I guess anthrax works too...I guess (sigh)

episode 23

Spoiler:
Finally Saki had contact with "The Faceless One" AKA Shun. So he's still alive.

Can't wait for the next episode. Hopefully, it's not the final episode.

Spoiler:
Don't know why you think he's alive. Well okay, I do know, but don't know why you'd assume that's the case first. It could be Saki's mind playing tricks on her like it has before. Or it could be some sentient Cantus leakage. After all, Cantus leaks out subconsciously, and Saki's memories have been buried in her subconscious. It could also be the reason Saki's memory has been restored (though I just call BS).

I hope Kiromaru doesnt betray them, and I wonder if whats his face died, it was a pretty good episode.

I'm pretty sure that's blood. I almost missed it the first time so I had to pause and go back.

Eps 24
Spoiler:
... Saki you dumb bitch.

Somehow I felt that this scene could be executed much, much, MUCH better.

On a side note:
Spoiler:
*rewatch SSY from eps 1*

What.. this.. awesome animation?

Dammit A-1 Pic, pretty much burns the budget for 4 early episodes then begs for money for the rest of it.

Episode 24:
Spoiler:
Can we have an episode where Saki isn't incompetent and lets her hallucinations make decisions for her? I also feel it was really too easy to get rid of the Psychobuster just by burning it. And it was supposed to be ultra-perfect. And couldn't she have just pulled back Satoru via Cantus instead of just solving her problems by igniting them with fire? And why did Saki throw the False Minoshiro again? And why did no one think that Kiroumaru could take out the Fiend?

Episode 24

Spoiler:
Saki screwed up big time, like ZoreOBK said, she could have used her cantus to pull Satoru out of the way. Now they have to find another way to defeat the fiend without the psychobuster.

Spoiler:
I thought they couldn't use the cantus on each other?

Anyways yeah, Saki is an incompetent crybaby.

Spoiler:
They can't use it when they're trying to kill someone, because the "death feedback" would kill them as well. Everything else is fair game. Then again, the fiend is able to to it with ease, so I guess it's something the townsfolk do to a person's subconscious to prevent them from becoming fiends.

Spoiler:
Satoru used his Cantus to pull Saki out of the way of that kamikaze river slug thing's explosion several episodes ago.

Edit:
Episode 25:
Spoiler:
And Saki remains a passive character right to the end. Letting everyone else take the blows for her. Like a certain other series, this one just ended with a return to the status quo. So we've gone in this big narrative circle where the main characters know a lot more than they did at the start, but nothing particularly noteworthy has changed, just like that other series.

I do want to say something about what Satoru said towards the end. He said that even knowing what they did, they really didn't consider the Queerats human. Saki then proves this by being able to burn Squealer without dying herself. It's certainly an interesting thing to consider.

well, that was quite the revelation by the show's end

but yeah, big question:
Spoiler:
why didn't they first think of unleashing the tainted cats upon the kid if they knew he was cantus human? should've been the first thing to turn to instead of the all powerful cantus user that died in a flash.

and wow, those cats look really adorable when they're still kittens

maybe a seven or an eight out of ten overall

Finale

Spoiler:
Yakomaru got what he deserved and we got to learn more about the Queerats, Saki and Satoru have a happy ending and some of the queerat colonies are spared. I think this was a satisfying ending, kinda bummed that Kiromaru died though.
