[Anime] SoniAni - Super Sonico The Animation

0
I have thank FreeOtakuGhost for bringing this anime to my attention. I am looking forward to the Super Sonico game soon to be released on the 3DS too.

Anyway, I digress. Nitroplus's mascot, Sonico, is getting her own anime adaptation and said title will be aired this Winter season of 2013/2014! Based on my limited knowledge of the Japanese language, said title should be focusing on Super Sonico's life as a college student, while playing in a band, together with 2 friends, Fujimi Suzu and Utanuki Fuuri.

Perhaps some of my fellow members who are more well-versed with Nitroplus's works can tell us whether Suzu and Fuuri are original characters created for this particular anime title.

Expect lots of fanservice. After all, its Super Sonico, isn't it?

PV number 2, according to its official anime website:

Not forgetting a link to the official anime website: http://soniani.jp

Where are the fans of Sonico!?

At least it's not as horrendously screen eating as ImoChou.

Good first episode. I don't know why but I really feel like buying a new bike for some reason.

I liked the first episode but honestly I wish it was a bit more ecchi.

Not impressed. The artwork was mildly disappointing, especially since Super Sonico is revered as some sort of anime sex goddess. Plus it just seems very cliche. I don't think I'll be watching anymore of this.

I haven't seen much about Super Sonico, but from pictures (and hentai) I've seen of it, looks interesting, also, best avatar ever Gambler.

Thank you, PenguinDemon. I have been using said avatar ever since I became a member of the forums. :D

Getting back on topic, it seems like SoniAni isn't very popular among anime viewers of the Fakku community. Could it be the lack of a definite storyline, apart from the daily life of Super Sonico.

One thing I learned from SoniAni is that I should pursue my interests, which reflects my current situation in real-life - to look for a job which I truly enjoy, rather than work for the sake of money... that is, until my coffers run dry.

I've been watching and enjoying this anime. I've got three more episodes left though. I finally finished Dark Souls 2 so I'm going to be completing everything that I fell behind on.

I supposed I should at least watch one episode before I judge, though my reasoning for, is that it is a anime series based off of a character made to promote sells. I don't expect anything meaningful, significant, or different than the norm, which seems to be characters as flushed out as Strike Witches or -insert harem series-.

Seeing as I have a "it's more of the same" mindset with a "why watch what I've seen so many times before, to the point I can't enjoy it anymore", I decided, why bother. Though, in the right mindset, the pv does show me something I might enjoy... a bit... I'd still have to get over my growing aggravation towards "ditzy, cheerful and virtuously innocent" female protagonist most commonly found in heroine rolls, along with the hollow fan service (because there is meaningful fan service!), I assume this series has.

Again, I realize I am condemning a series I haven't tried watching yet, and I know from history, that I have dreadfully miscalculated how bad I think a series will be and how much I would enjoy it (C3-bu, I'm sorry already!), but this mindset is the wall that blocks me from trying.

Finished this the other day. I really liked it overall. It wasn't heavy on fan-service in case anybody was wondering. There is some but not too much.

To be honest, it is one of those anime titles which you can watch during your free time, with no worries about the next episode, since the storyline tends to standalone each week. Of course, watching it in sequence helps, especially with regards to the introduction of characters.

Ecchi fanservice that is.

Looking at it from another perspective, the entire series is fanservice, particularly for fans of Sonico. :D
