Berserk
Aired between: 1997 - 1998
Short introduction:
from: www.anime-planet.com
Genre:Fantasy,Swordsmen,Epic,Medieval,Explicit Content
Gatts is a man who fights for only one thing: his life. As he proves his worth as a fighter and his skills become masterful, he is forced into a band of mercenaries, the Band of the Hawks. They are led by a powerful leader named Griffith who has a dream of ultimate power and wealth in all of Midland. But will the evils of the world prevail over these heroic mercenaries?
The reason i liked this anime is because it's character's & story's development. The In Medias Res 1st episode got my attention so i watched it trough and got a fairly great anime only the ending made me "sad". To be correct... this anime doesn't has an ending... It's a shame 'cause the manga is great so i cant understand why was this anime abandoned. Anyway those who like medieval fantasy stories MUST watch it ^^

If it ain't Hellsing OVA quality i ain't interested, the original anime was pretty shit, even when not compared ot the epic masterpiece manga.

With all it's numerous qualities Berserk is practically ancient at this point ... and I can't say it aged gracefully. The art was one of the main things that made me stall it for a time several years ago and the fact that it's totally unresolved (with the manga still going and all) doesn't help either.
Hence, I'm afraid a large part of the younger, quality-spoiled audience won't be able to appreciate it. A pity since it's a must-watch classic IMO.
Answered 'hell yeah' of course ... provided it would stay true to the manga.

I think the anime did its job well, acting as a preview to the manga to get more people to read it. Well it certainly did that job well for me. I'm waiting for the story to end before picking the manga and I can't wait.
Voted hell yeah as I prefer my action in animation as I don't spend much time on the images in manga; read the dialogue; take a glimpse at the action; flip is the way I read my manga. Should probably change that and enjoy the art more but oh wells...

I was one of those unfortunate souls that watched the anime before reading the manga. Provided the anime was actually great until it got to episode 22 and abrutbly turning into wierd ass second rate porn. I really liked it until then, but the unresolved ending really bummed me out. It discouraged me from reading the manga and I actually didn't read it until 2 years later. Reading the manga, I cry for a remake of the anime that will continue farther as the manga is FUKKEN EPIC WIN. Anyway, if they do make an anime though, I don't think they'll do it soon as they will most definately catch up with the anime soon (as the manga chapters are released 2 times a month AT BEST) and fillers would drag on forever... and I don't think anyone wants that either. >_>

i would watch the anime if it came out with something that covered the entire series. the anime so far only has ONE episode with the dragonslayer in it

With some parts of the manga I'm not sure if people want to see it animated. However, I would love to see Gutz in his Berserker Armor and I want to see the Skeleton Knight in action.

I thought the anime was kinda pointless. I dunno, even without reading the manga, the anime just didn't catch my attention nor did the plot seem to impress me.

I watched the anime and thought it was badass. But even more badass was this very special episode:

I kinda wish for a reboot, start afresh and follow the manga I'd say. I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon.

The February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is announcing on Saturday that the previously revealed Berserk project will begin with a theatrical film that will open in 2011. According to Newtype, the 2011 film will be the first part of a project that will adapt the entire story from Kentarou Miura's manga.

Saw a couple of teaser posters in the past but I guess it's legit now.

I would die a happy man if Berserk had a second series. I would die in enlightenment if Miura is able to finish Berserk before he himself passes away. Berserk, in my opinion, has the most intriguing storyline of any art form.
A couple of months ago i stumbled upon this:

It is supposedly leaked images from a second series that is in production. it seems quite CG intensive. What do you guys make of it?
