C-The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

C is an incredibly well-thought out series. The ideas and symbolism are plentiful and very well done. However, it lacks heavily on the execution on nearly all fronts. It will pass as a mediocre but ambitious show, for me.

I think like other short 11-episode series on Noitamina, it doesn't leave for much time to flesh things out, and leaves the show a tad rushed. The same goes for AnoHana. There have been odd rumors floating around that [C] may have originally been planned as a longer series, as the ED has an odd reference to an "Episode 26," but I have no clue if there is any truth to it.

Anyway, there was quite a bit of philosophy and symbolism, with references to the ongoing financial crisis/depression/recession/whateveryouwanttocallit which has apparently hit Japan even worse than it hit the US. Yes, the ending was somewhat open-ended, but there are a few odd details I've noticed. Why did Japan's currency switch to the US dollar after Kimimaro "restored the future"? They specifically had characters and signs referring to this too. Did that IMF lady's transfer of money/asset have something to do with it? Is it trying to say something about how the US is affecting Japan's economy somehow?

Also, a small part of the fight scene *might* have been rushed. While the production quality drastically went up during the fight, it switched to hand-drawn sketch style art near the end. It worked effectively as a slow-mo special effect, but I've heard when studios are rushing out work and really really running out of time, they resort to these kind of things. Last time I saw this happen was in Yumekui Merry, but I forget the episode. Again, this was just a semi-random thought.

I so hope I'm not too late for the party with this one. I just finally decided to get around to watching this anime and it looks really nice.

Edit: This anime has a weird want to use highly noticeable CG. Make it stop.
Edit2: CG work seems to get progressively better real fast. Like in a matter of an episode fast. Also I just realized that I came to a party that has technically been over for two days. Crap.
Edit3: Screw what I said about the CG, it never gets any better. It just stands out and looks choppy compared to the animation.
Edit4: I now want an Akumetsu anime now.

Probably a doppelganger of Hanabi or Hanabi herself is too busy having fun to realize.
He visited Hanabi's previous household, Notice how the car went from red to blue, making it seem as if another family moved in, while Hanabi's moved out somewhere.
What tree? Are you talking about the bench in the shade? He just blended in.


Moral lesson of the day? MONEY GOES AROUND AND AROUND THE WORLD. 8D

Overall, this anime was indeed rather rushed into the climax, but the psychology and moral talking made up for most of it, at least for me.

Sorta feel stupid for quoting myself, but I think there was even more symbolism here than meets the eye. When Jennifer (I had to look that name up) gave her Asset to Kimimaro, the show put a bit of emphasis on the Asset's name: George

"Make sure George is safe!" and "George is yours!" etc.

"George" is the name of the president, George Washington, on the front of the $1 bill:

IT WAS SO GODDAMN DISAPPOINTING RAGE RAGE RAGe. INTERESTING CHARACTERS AND SETTING AND THEY MANAGE IT FUCK IT UP BLAH. I am venting my rage please do not take me seriously as I am just disappointed with how the anime turned out.

i haven't watch the anime yet, bu i think this one is a good anime..
i hope i can watch it in Indonesia.. LoL ^^
