So, I was rummaging through some old VHS tapes I still have and found this: http://www.amazon.com/Capricorn-VHS/dp/6304572778 Notice the artist's name above the title if you view the larger image. I did a double take a looked it up. Sure enough, that's the guy doing Ring X Mama, a manga I'm sure a lot of us have been following.
This tape is a single 45min episode OVA to a 5 volume manga of the same name. I'm definitely interested in reading it but it's so damn obscure it practically doesn't exist online. I can remember my brother getting me this tape nearly 12-13 years ago, and it was something I enjoyed watching (cause it was ANIME! and was totally cool!) even though I knew it really wasn't that great of an OVA.
So, just thought I'd share a little discovery I made. Small world.

It's not really a "discovery" though, since he's not hiding the fact, but you're the one that never researched your favorite artist.
Well, don't mean to brag or anything. But I already knew way earlier that Manabe Jouji did some Old-school Anime, since I Already read most of his doujins, including non translated ones and really Old ones.
and I also search the wiki to find more info about him

Well, I've got good news, bad news, and iffy news for you. Good news, a lot of Manabe Jouji's work can be pretty easily found. Bad news, Capricorn does NOT exist in english. I learned about Manabe a few years ago and have read/watched a good deal of his works. Unfortunately, Capricorn was never released as a manga in the US and is just obscure enough to deter translator groups to work on it. Bundle that in with the fact that it's now fairly difficult to obtain in japanese, and you only have a manga that could have been. Now for the iffy news, I was able to find a few chapters in thai. But I don't know any groups that know thai or would be willing to work on random chapters. If you somehow manage to find Capricorn (manga) in japanese or english, then you have succeeded in something I've failed at on many occasions. As a side note, should you find it, please send me a link. Manabe is still one of my favorites, and not for porn.

Wow, thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I kinda figured as well. I would certainly let you know but it's looking quite grim on my end as well.
I did manage to find his first work, Outlanders, all up on MangaFox, which is pretty nice, but sadly nothing else. I also found some nice assortments of the few books that Dark Horse seemed to have picked up way back in the '80s, up on eBay.

No problem and Outlanders was the first of Manabe's works that I read. If you want to read another of his manga, you can try "Caravan Kidd". It, Outlanders, and Drakkun are on "anymanga" and have good quality. As a side note, you are one of the few people I have talked to that actually likes reading his early works, so I find great joy in helping you.
