So it's been subbed now. I haven't watched all of it yet, but there are some differences from the TV show. Like character personalities, friendships, ect ect. Some little things.
And judging by the way things are going...
Although i could be wrong, haven't watched it all yet.

Yep, that was the original story, as is in the game, I really hope that the anime series doesn't end the same, I hate ported endings.

This just came out by Eclipse. I haven't gotten around to watching it but here is a torrent link for both versions they released:
Xvid
DVD
edit: Wow, links not working wtf. In my edit page there are no spaces in the ending url tags and it won't fix. Weird. Guess you can manually copy them though still =X
here's their main page: http://eclipse.no-sekai.de/
if its not up there go into archive at the top and click clannad

I was under the impression that Clannad the movie was released well before the anime. In fact, I've watched the movie before, but I forgot which group subbed it. It was short but good. Like every bit of it.

Just finished watching it and I enjoyed it. Didn't really like the ending where all became well in an instant though. But this definitely gave me a new perspective on Clannad as a whole.
According to myanimelist, this aired Sept. 15, 2007 so you very well have probably already watched it. I guess I'm just living under a rock. It's an hour and a half long but it just seems longer because I'm so immersed in every detail of whats going on. I much prefer the anime's drawing style and voices over this but its still worth it to watch. It portrays Tomoya's depression and the background on him and Sunohara a lot better than the anime did. I found it really interesting how they were both sharing the same depressing dream and how it culminated during the play.

Something wrong with MAL users? XD
I really loved the movie. I thought it was on par with the series, but for different reasons. It really was just as epic even though they took events differently and put their own twist to it.

So I was browsing the net in class today, seeing if I can find any specific details about when Sentai will release Clannad ~AS~ (dubbed, I already have the subbed), didn't find that, but I did find something called Clannad Theatrical. What I get from it is maybe a short story during their time reviving the drama club, and the connection between Tomoya's dreams and Nagisa's play/dream . I hope this bridges the gap between reality and the world, because I've been practically killing myself over finding the secret, I think I come so close, but then I'm wrong... anyway, any speculation? Anticipation? Regret? Oh and I'm not sure if it's made by Key, it better be...

I'm not sure, but it might just be a remake of the 2006(?) Clannad Movie. I can't really find anything else about it...

Only reason that would piss me off is because I'd look stupid for making this topic... Oh well, delete as I see fit, but wasn't the movie just an abridged version of the series? This sounds more like a segment.

No, this is interesting. I didn't know they were making another Clannad Movie, whatever it may turn out being. It sounds like it is going to tell the whole story. Maybe it will be Clannad, but with only Nagisa's story.

Well a little searching turned up that Clannad Theatrical IS the original Clannad Movie but with Sentai Filmworks dubbing. They announced this with with Clannad ~AS~ dub release in march. Time to set some money aside.

Clannad TV was by Kyoto Animation, the Clannad movie is Toei Animation.

Update! Clannad Theatrical will be released February 15th, and is up for pre order at most sites, such as Amazon, and I ordered mine just now from Ooples, maybe a little higher but I prefer buying from local. To bad this isn't done by Toei like Air The Motion Picture was, they did an awesome job in my opinion (didn't see the first Clannad Movie, sure it was similar).
