When I think f classic anime I think, Astroboy, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Tekkaman Blade, Kimba, you know old stuff =PJust today, I found out the name of one of the old anime I watched around the same time as Sailor Moon. Tekkaman Blade. The lack of a name to this anime that I had watched has bothered me for the past decade, and I can now lay it to rest. Tekkaman Blade is probably the anime that left the biggest impact and influence on me out of all the anime I have seen.

Since no one else mentioned it I gotta throw in a word for Ashita no Joe, on a separate note seeing DBZ and Ranma 1/2 being called classics really makes me feel like an old timer.

I consider things like Sailor Moon, DBZ, Gundam Wing, and whatnot to be oldschool rather than "classic". Something that is classic has to be an absolute minimum of 5 years old and be truly great. Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion are both my prime examples from the more modern anime scene. People that think DBZ is a classic aren't really that big into anime. Either that or they're stupid. Yeah it was fun to watch a half dozen blond guys screaming for 20 minutes when I was 7 years old and would run outside pretending to shoot kamehamehas at people but no kid in his right mind would give a fuck about the show now.
