Code Geass Ending with R2
0
Apparently this little article tells that Code Geass will be ending with R2. Personally, I am INCREDIBLY glad that they are not going to drag it out into a Bleach / Naruto / One Piece cash cow like so many other anime.
What are your thoughts on Code Geass ending this season?

Well, this is in a sense a curse and a blessing. A blessing in that we know that the series will end this season with some sort of definitive ending and not drag out. A curse in the sense that we don't know how the series will progress so much in less than 16 episodes, nor has all of the loose ends been tied up. I personally could go for another season, but you know what, I'd rather wait and see.

Seeing as the ending has to come within the allotted 24(?) episodes, the show will probably do one of three things:
Scramble to an ending, fumbling the story, creating illogical plot devices, a worry that should be less probable seeing as the other option is....
It will most likely end epically, with everything tying up beautifully, earning a rightful place as one of the best animes of this time...
OR...Harem Ending.

i think that if they finish it this season the ending won't be proper. if they did create a 3rd season i'll gladly watch it,but if they're gone mad and do the one piece/naruto disease, hell with it.

I'm gonna go with the second possibility. I can't exactly say that I'm not disappointed that they're going to end it with R2. I was hoping for at least one more season, just because its a great story and they could do a lot, without dragging it out, if they made it a little longer. I feel like they could come to a satisfactory ending within the number of episodes left.
Does anyone get the feeling that Kallen might die. Its almost a blasphemous thought, but her fate basically lies in the hands of Nunnally, who is kind of a black sheep in the royal family and doesn't really hold much standing in the family right now. Its a long shot, one that I'm hoping won't happen, but things still have time to play out and if CG has proven anything its that nothing is impossible.
I swear Nonette better not just be one of those characters they show off, but never use in the series. She's too hot to be denied air time. They most likely will use her, but there have been instances in the past where they've released art for characters and never actually used them.
Pic unrelated...

I'm also pleased that they aren't going to drag it out.
With all of the challenges and plot twists in Geass, it shows you that Geass may start "hotting" up soon

I'm so glad it's ending this season. It's not that I want it to end, I'm just happy that it will end. I cannot stand when anime drags on for too long. I'm saying this now but I have a feeling I'm gonna be sad when it's over lol.

I'm not surprised. My feelings about it are akin to The Jesus'. There's plenty to go over for one more season without the "dragging on" feeling, but 12 episodes is plenty to wrap things up. Unlike The Jesus though, I think Kallen will live and I think CC will almost certainly die. The preview for Turn 14 makes things look like they will become serious. As I said in the Code Geass R2 thread:

no,its lulu who gonna die
and maybe his entire bandwagon of kuro kishidan.
as who'll live?
suzaku nunnaly.
i don't know why,but the animal in myself said so.

Watch it be one crazy bloody massacre. Lulu dies, C.C. and all other existing witches or warlocks die, Charles di Britannia dies, Nunnally dies. With Orange now having that Anti-Geass lol Suzaku's Geass thing to Live is gonna flunk out and he's gonna die some crazy ass way. Probably suicide... who knows. Maybe that Live Geass is the only thing keeping him from shooting himself.
Edit: Can't forget about Auther or Authar the kitty. He's gonna get hit by a truck.

In the end, Arthur will assume his true form, a godlike being with the most powerful Geass imaginable. His Geass manifests in any way he desires and he'll use it to kill everyone and completely destroy the Earth.

all i can think of that will give closure is that Lulu kills the emperor with the help of orange-kun, then he dies, lulu becomes emperor Cornelia and Schneizel accept him as emperor and he and kallen are together, idk about Nunnally my friend was pissed off about Euphie, and if they really wanna piss him of they could kill her off, but i am saying they won't hopefully

hmmmm.. after rewathcing some episodes today... i cocluded that the best ending there would is if nina dies in the most horrible way possible.. hahahaha!

The producers of Code Geass are probably lurking in this thread, looking out for possible ideas to end the season. :D
Code Geass may end with R2, but I don't think the article states anything about OVAs being produced. If Sunrise intends to milk the popularity of Code Geass, they can easily come out with side stories for most of the characters. They may even start animating Nightmare of Nunnally.
