The part with the Dollars working together to help Anri was pretty badass though. Too bad Mikado disagrees.

The thing about Mikado is that he is hopelessly idealistic from the start. After being attracted by Kida's exaggerated details of Ikebukuro and having his initial dream realized by instating himself as the founder of the Dollars, things seem to be going swell. Then, people in his organization start getting hurt, then his friends start getting hurt. Finally, he is alone with a computer full of people who are without a good leader.

He yearned for connections, and this is a classic example of how internet connection actually separates us from the start. His relationship with his friends is just as superficial as his chat friends, and I think he is starting to realize that as he continues to reject Kida's calls. He finally met the real world, the city, away from the sleepy rural areas of his hometown, and he is in shock... well, unless he has a plan like last time.

Every man has his own secrets to keep, and even to the closest of his allies. Now, regardless of a secret kept-hidden, revealed, or discovered at some point, that’s normal. What’s abnormal, however, is for one man to know virtually everything, and use every ounce of information for his own amusement. That’s what is unrealistic.

That said, the last 4-5 episodes or so have been pretty much all about finding oneself amidst the most rowdy of crowds(situations), in all corners of Ikebukuro.

Mikado -- the average guy who found a more than average life a little too much to handle
Kida -- the coward who seeks redemption but doesn’t know where to look
Anri -- the parasite who was once afraid of losing everything, realized there’s nothing else left to lose

@simplechild: on the contrary, the dollars has just proven yet again how the smallest of connections can lead into something significant; the tiniest of specks that we are, together, could create a line of infinite possibilities. Mikado best understands that. Only, he wonders if it is okay for him to keep relying on others(DOLLARS) while the members can’t rely on him to do something about the vicious attacks their group have continually suffered from. And so he did what he thought was right, as the DOLLARS' leader should, to protect what that is most important. And as for not answering Kida's calls, it's likely that Izaya had already told him of his bff's involvement with the Yellow Scarves.
