My AOTY would honestly be Space Dandy or Mushishi. Space dandy had a lot of meh episodes but the diversity in them really shined through. And Mushishi was just great, again and again.

Honorable mentions go to Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Grisaia no Kajitsu; for those great three first episodes but also staying interesting throughout and Zankyou no Terror; partly because of the gorgeous soundtrack.

Pretty good year for anime. Two anime found their way into my top five.

there were a lot of shows i watched this year, but i think the best was Tokyo Ghoul. i may have enjoyed other shows more (no game no life) but i think that ghoul was my top pick

But Seriously, personally favourite one was actually a continuation from 2013 in
Kuroko no Basket 2. It lasted till March so I consider that this year.

Can't recall enough to give seasonal awards, but overall, I'd make my top contenders:

No real ranking. Biggest WTF goes to Nobunaga the Fool, biggest disappointment was Coppelion.

I'm still mad that Overpowered Main Character Online bored me to death.

Winter
-Gin no Saji 2nd Season was the stand out for me. I'm not sure how a SoL made me so interested in farming, but I'm oddly ok with it. Top tier characters with actual development, and the best ed of the year imo. Great series once you get over the odd animation and setting.
-Loved Noragami. MC was a lot of fun to watch, and the show had some amazing art and sound
-Mikakunin de Shinkoukei was a lot of fun for a typical RomCom. I mostly just loved Kobeni

Spring
-Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou as much as I hate to admit it. Out of principle tend I to hate RomComs that refuse to progress the Rom part, but the characters were able to carry it despite some lackluster romance. I can also appreciate a highschool SoL that rarely actually took place at said school.
-No Game No Life was interesting if nothing else, and I rally enjoyed it past episode 5.
-The fist half of Mushishi Zoku Shou didn't actually impress me much(The 2nd half blew me away)

Summer
-Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I early pissed myself laughing at some of the scenes.
-I'm saving it for a rainy day, but from what I've seen(Episode 1-2) Barakamon looks amazing.
-Tokyo Ghoul and Zankyou no Terror both had strong starts and weak finishes I felt. Although Zankyou no Terror was way more interesting and had a better soundtrack.

Fall
-Mushishi Zoku Shou 2nd Season is my AotY by a decent margin. The OVA and everything after it are imo the best Mushishi has to offer.
