The 1st season of Hayate is back on Crunchyroll, and I've just started watching it. There's so many spoofs and parodies of other series, but I can only identify a few of them...
Plus there's the Dragon Warrior references (with the walking casket and blue slime monster), and the random statues of characters from other shows. And they put a bit of a twist to the usual beach episode.
Fun Fact: Hayate is 11.8 inches taller than Nagi.

It came out the same time Toradora did, so everyone was watching that show instead. As I said above (almost a year ago), Hayate is one of my favorite shows, and Hinagiku is one of my favorite girls. That makes sense I guess. I was watching Toradora at the time...
And yes, Hinagiku is awesome. I actually find all the girls likable actually, or rather, I just can't find anything that I really dislike...

It is fun to see all the parodies and references. I love it when Tama claims that he was supposed to be a pokemon, and implies he was supposed to play the part of Meowth (cause they both are talking cats).
Also, the first season has so many episodes that are different than the manga. Other times this would be considered "filler" but for a comedy series it is like having bonus material. The manga gets covered, but you get some pretty fun episodes that aren't in the manga. I really wish they would make a season three - there is so much much story left the anime hasn't covered.
They do. I forget her name, but she is the go to tsundere/loli seiyuu.

I am currently following this show on Animax. Haha~ Each episode makes me laugh a lot. I love how Mr. Hata uses all those fandom-related references especially on the episode titles, it's really clever. Hayate is my second favorite butler next to Sebastian. <33

I have both season (season 1 by SS-Eclipse, and season 2 by Chihiro) downloaded. I've been converting each ep to MP4 so I can watch it on my PSP. I only ever stream new and ongoing anime. If it's a complete series, I always download and watch. Averaging about 10 eps a day. I'm hoping that I can finish by the end of the week.

Blegh. I just caught up with the manga and now I can't wait to see the rest of it animated.
