How many volumes do you guys think this series will last to? I'm personally predicting around 8-10. I'm assuming this as the length because I'm just summarizing what a typical zombie story contains and fitting what's left that the series needs to pull off. I got this idea that almost everyone is going to die in the end because it is a zombie story. Though the fact that they bring the cute dog and kid into the equation fucks up the typical zombie story outcome. Seeing how things are going, they will escape mall, somehow meet up with the teacher's SWAT girlfriend, do a bit of last stand thing in some heavily guarded place(airport?), do lil conflict with that psycho teacher and his cult, figure way to go to zombie free area(prob by ship, doubt anybody knows how to pilot the airplanes), sacrifice of character(s), excape, happily ever after, ... turns out there is no happily ever after(or not).

It's because Xamayon the scanlators will scanlate by the volume, hence the long-ass wait in between volumes.

That had better not be true. I'd be raging if they quit HSotD on me.

What happened to this manga? I know there is a new one released but it was never translated. It r be sad.

Well xamayon the translater are only translating volumes and not monthly serials so i guess theyre waiting for the tankabon to come out and its not helping that the artist is going on a hiatus too.

so expect it to be released really late, on the other hand when it comes out it would be several chapters at once.

Chapter 23, RELEASED!!!!!

HOTD is on Hiatus. They don't know if it will even be continued or not at the moment. I mean Inazuma is working on his other manga series Triage X right now so we won't know when he'll switch back.

Any source on the above information? I will be quite disappointed if it is true.

In any case, I bought volume 5 of the chinese translated version recently and it should keep me occupied for a while.

I really, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that they'll resume it. It was such a great series that I wanted to see what happened at the end, either they all die and become zombies or they all escape and live their lives in peace. Or a mass spread of a vaccine that kills all zombies.
